Need ideas for 6 very similar fabrics by
quilternow
Somehow I have 5" squares of 6 different -yet similar colors of fabric.
The light and dark of it are only a few shades apart. Too similar and
I cant think of anything that would contrast in a good way. They are
all in the "peach" hue. I think I have enough of them all for a couple
quilts....any...

Directory testers needed! by
AliceW
Well, I think the Directory is ready to go, but I need a few test entries to
make sure everything is working ok. So, the form will be open for the next
15 minutes or so. It would be great to have a variety of entries, some
domestic, some international. These will only be test entries - if you...

Patterns, New Projects
Author: Judy Mathieson
I just did my first ever Mariner's Compass (sorry no pic at this time).

Jacqueline
You all don't know how much help you have been to me just getting
ready to get started trying to learn to quilt.
Can someone please tell me about how many 4 inch squares it would take
to make just a plain quilt, no patterns, just squares sewn together?
I would like to make it for a full size...

Welcome my temporary QI! by
Kate Dicey
We have borrowed a pooch for a week. Her name is Scamp, and she belongs
to friends who are off to a folk/morris dancing festival for a week,
after a wedding today, so as this isn't too far away and they couldn't
get pooch friendly B&B or camping (and anyway, the pooch would have had
to spend...

OT - all of it irrelevant including the Census by
Cats
Last night was Census night in Australia, so we have all
been herded, counted and categorised. As I used to work for
the Bureau of Stats I dutifully did my bit. But I was
disappointed that they no longer have space for some of the
lifestyle questions that really used to be interesting (like...

Sally Swindells
I've just been looking at
http://quilting.about.com/
Its got a new 'Guide' and has really changed. Lots of help for
beginners there, and a few useful free patterns and plenty of handy
hints.

DS's Community Service quilts by
Kim E
You have all heard about my 18 year old DS - Brilliant, mathematical,
ADD, and no sense.
In February, when he was driving to a college to make a final decision
on which school to attend this fall, he was caught going 83 mph in a 60
mph zone. Because he was still 17, this was sent to Juvenile...

A funny thing happened on the way to a fabric order.... by
Johanna Gibson
Well I have my order finally. It is been so frustrating, I may as
well mention the shop - Bear Paw Quilting. I know several of you will
stand up and say "They've been great for me!" and that's nice. It
wasn't great for me.
I ordered 8 yards of fabric back in June. Most shops can get that
much,...
