Spanish Singer Manual? by
NightMist
DD#3 is in her term of home ec at school and they have come up on what
passes for a sewing module.
She has been partnered with a girl who does not speak any english yet.
They are getting by so far useing pantomime and what few words each
has in the other's language.
It would be amazingly helpful...

Finished a small quilt by
Sandy
My eye therapist has been so good to me for the past couple of years --
even driving to my home the night of my eye surgery to make sure I had
some glasses I'd be able to see with -- that I decided to make her a
small quilt (my favorite kind G). She's been given many different
dragons over...

A dumbo question on HUGs by
SewVeryCreative[_3_]
Since so many here do the HUGs I was wondering what the overall preference
is on prewashing fabric for the HUG blocks ...
Prewash? No? Depends on the fabric/shop the fabric was bought at?
Is there a general consensus or is this a question best asked to the person
actually hosting the HUG?
Sorry...

On Topic Rant - Sort of long by
steve
Okay everyone. Fasten your seatbelts for this one.
So, I do have my biases, but I'll try to set the stage and let you decide.
I was at a planning meeting yesterday with fellow teachers and our students.
The Home Ec teacher and I discovered a common interest in quilting. My
perception of her...

WOOHOOO! Patti's book!! by
Tutu Haynes-Smart
My copy of "Geometrical Quilts" arrived yesterday and it is just as perfect
as one would expect from our Pat!!
We have probably all benefited from her careful advice in the past - and, as
you would expect, the instructions in the book are some of the clearest and
best set out I have ever...

Cherry Wood Thread Cabinet by
John
Here are the first of the pictures showing the construction of the
Cherry Wood Thread Cabinet. There are some other pictures showing some
other parts of the process, but I have not had time to arrange them
and these are the best ones that I have for now. I will continue to
upload more as the...

Directory form is open for business! by
AliceW
The Directory form is good to go. I tested it and it is working as
expected. I didn't need to make any changes from the form we used last time
which helped save some time.
So here's how it works:
Anyone who wishes to be in the Directory needs to fill in the form - once
please - even if you...

What 'cha lookin' for?? by
Patti S
We haven't had one of these threads in a while - and with the holidays
approaching and so many new quilters coming out of lurkdom, I thought it
was a good time to ask "what 'cha need / what 'cha lookin' for"? I may
have some bit of fabric that would be just perfect for a project someone
out there...

Store with older fabrics? by
Pauline
Someone just posted the name of a store & I thought I saved it, but it's
gone & I don't remember the subject name. Would you mind posting it again -
I'm on the hunt for an older fabric.
This is about the only time I buy fabrics on-line.
Thanks!

Here's Polly by
Polly Esther
My precious friends, here I am. Don't dare spend much time online - the
phone lines are up just a bit but have to run the pc on generator and
running the well for water is critical.
Just to let you know that this is ME and not a hoax - the gators, I'm
told, were attending a thanksgiving prayer...

What Are You Working On?? by
frood
It's been awhile since we've had this post, so here it is. I love reading
about what everyone is working on. I'm amazed at how much some people
achieve, but no matter how prolific, I am always inspired by reading about
other projects.

OT any good lowfat recipes? by
Taria
Ok, I can't be the only one dealing with re-learning
to cook. DH has to bring his cholesterol down. We have
made a lot of changes in our diet/cooking. Admittedly I'm
not very subtle about 'sneaking' chocolates, cookies
and burgers once in awhile. Heck, my cholesterol is ok.
Anyway do you guys...

Emily Post and Vanderbilt would just die by
Polly Esther
Today I received the ultimate thank you note. I made a quilt for my new
neighbor here in The Swamp. He truly, dearly loves it. Will not sleep or nap
without it. I was sure he appreciated it.
Not enough.
He brought me an eight-point buck by way of a thank-you note.
Well, fortunately, not the whole...

Just wanting people's thoughts on this. You can e-mail me privately if
you wish. I'm not looking for a flame war, just some honest real life
thoughts. The first website is a site you can look up the shots a lot of
us received as children. The actually little piece of paper that comes
with the shot...
