Maybe just to get me out of his shop area, but who cares? I would

any good instructional videos by
TJIC
Beowulf asked quite a while ago for information on instructional
videos.
If I may have a short plug: I run Technical Video Rental.com.
As you might guess from the name, we rent out craft and technical
videos (sort of like Netflix).
We've been around for two years now, and because of...

Anybody out there know of a good high fire kiln cement? by
Steve Mills
I have used 140TW Sodium Silicate and Kaolin (China Clay) mixed to a
soft paste. The items to be joined need to be pre-wetted or they extract
all the moisture and the joint fails.

Saturday!!! (If it does not rain) So - glazing still to go.
Any one out there that has the same problem as I do - that family comes
first?? When will I get...

Brent electric wheels by
psci_kw
I like to throw off the mound,
mostly cups and bowls, and have only rarely thrown anything
as much as a foot high that stayed on center ... that is,
I'm a hobbyist, not an artist or production potter.
Ahhhh....try slowing the wheel down a bit the higher you pull. You will
find it MUCH...

Castable clay by
Steve Mills
Bob,
You will need to make a plaster mould of the tile form, as clay slip
won't dry out successfully in a rubber mould.
Make a plaster tile from your rubber mould and don't let it dry out!
Get some Soft Soap (also known as Mould Maker's Size), and using a soft
brush and a little water, work up a...

Chinese pottery ? (help needed) by
Lindsay MacArthur
From what I can tell, the stamp on the bottom of the vase is Hua Shan.
Hua Shan (flowering mountain) pottery was named for a very beautiful
and famous Taoist mountain in the Shanxi province of China. I don't
recognize the artist's name (the red stamp) and I have no idea of the
worth of your vases...

Clay for Beginners - Throwing by
Mud Dawg
Jim, are there any pottery supply stores or studios close by? Your wife can
throw all she wants and then reconstitute the clay unless it is fired.
Eventually, she will want to experiment with glazing and start keeping her
work. In my opinion, she also needs to decide what cone she will be...
