aprons by
Susan Hartman
Got this from a friend:
The History of APRONS
FW: The History of Aprons (not a joke)
I don't think our kids know what an apron is.
The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress
underneath. Because she only had a few, it was easier to wash aprons
than dresses and they used less...

Too much of a good thing by
anne
Yesterday, a box arrived from NH filled with goodies in exchange for a book I
had sent you know who. Even though I resolved to do a Brazilian embroidery
sampler, nothing in my growing stash is saying 'do me! do me now!"
Would you/could you point me to some projects, charts, designs, that could...

After I put this in the oven I have time to cross stitch ;-0
Don't remember where I got the recipe. You can use 1 egg for two pieces
of chicken .Not feeding a large family anymore. You also need a cast iron
skillet for this recipe.

Really bad instructions by
anne
I picked up a Bucilla kit for making felt flowers for under $2 at HobbyLobby
not long ago. Last night, I pulled it out and got a massive headache when I
tried to decipher the instructions which are on 1 doubled sided page in
English, French, and Spanish. I understand that printing costs money...

On topic - favourite psalm by
MargW
I've been thinking of doing a piece for church and for our Minister. I
could do the 23rd psalm, but would like to do something different,
especially since I am going to try designing it myself.
It has to be one of the shorter psalms since I don't want it to be too
enormous. I love Psalm 121 (I...

A finish - first finish of 09 by
Cheryl Isaak
I finished "Live Simply" ( a Dimensions kit)
http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=nw0368
Yesterday. All I have to do is wash and press it and I take a quick picture.
I think I have the fabric to do the "no sew cube" and have some daisy trim
to add. I may yet add a...

ON topic - so much for my plans for the day by
Cheryl Isaak
Well, my plan should have been taking effect right about now - a cup of
tea to warm up, clean out the kitchen sinks to a fare-thee-well and wash my
finish. Sweep up the floor and set up the ironing board to press it.
Then I was going to get the sewing machine set up and attach some trim to...

OT New CAt Baby Update by
Tia Mary
Hi Guys,
Well, things seem a bit better of late with the two new cat babies.
Bunnie (the Bodacious Miss B Chunkybutt Cat) has settled right in. She
has only had one loud hissing match with Cassie (Baby Cat) who is the
true ruler of the domain -- LOL! Bunnie runs around as if she's a
kitten...

Eye candy! by
Jinx Minx
So I finally had a few moments between the baby and unpacking moving boxes
to peruse the latest Nordic Needle catalog that came last week. I have to
admit, it's actually been a few years since I've been inspired by any new
patterns but I think the cold spell is over! First thing to catch my...

Organizing a stitching retreat by
deniseb
Not sure how it happened but in talking to the owner of my LNS - I was
asked to help organize a stitching retreat or stitch-in. Having always
wanted to go to one but never having the chance - I am unsure what
actually goes on at a retreat. Are there stitching related games? Do
you just sit and...

Stitch Progress on Baroque, and Battles w/ Threads by
ellice
Hi all,
So, I'm about to post some pix on RCTNP of my latest progress on Baroque.
I'm about to start the really interesting kind of double swirl inside the
squares- it goes between the Jessica & Smyrna, and will then be filled with
a Rhodes and some beads. My intent is to finish 3 of them, so I...
