OT - Feeling Miserabubble by
Sharon Harper
Yup after telling my kids they can only get sick in school vacation, I've
gone and got sick in the first week back to work/school.
I think I can thank my wonderful (yeah, right! LOL) caring, sharing husband
for caring enough to share his miserable yucky head cold with me. My nose
is...

Prayers please! by
[email protected]
(This message has been sent twice and I can see it, but I don't think
anyone else can!)
Some of you know that my dad has been fighting a rather rare blood
disease for a couple of years now. We learned today that it has
morphed
into full-blown Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).
There are a couple...

Look what I can do! by
Debi Matlack
My piecing is getting better! Behold the purple and green baby quilt, with
mostly matching corners! It's for my friend Kelly, who graduates in from vet
school May, and has her first baby in August. Her DH is also a veterinarian
but Kelly has a special interest in zoo animals, so I included them...

foundation piecing and applique in one process by
Anne Rogers[_2_]
yikes, that title is fairly similar to my previous, but it's a completely
different one!
I have a design that I think would be best foundation pieced, but, the
resulting piece will be curved and though I could do a curved piece then
piece the various blocks together, I think the design will...

OT - extreemly OT - about my truck by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
Okay, let me just start off by saying that this group DOES have a rep for
being THE playce to go, to find out anything you ever wanted to know about
anything. So here's my question.
We have a chance on a pop up camper. The book says our truck can pull 3,000
lbs. What I want to know is - can...

what's a good price? by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
I've never bought or priced batting on a bolt before. I like Quilter's
Dream, or something similar, that's enjoyable for hand-quilting. What does
something like that cost? At least if you can get me in the ball park I
won't get snookered.

Best mono for machine applique by
MaleQuilter
What mono thread is best for machine applique?
On my first machine applique project, I used clear and it was shinny.
On my second project, I used smoke colored and it was less shinny but
still shinny.

The quilt from hell update. by
John
Well, I have started piecing together the top of the quilt from hell.
62" x 62" to make into a lap quilt. It is comprised of 1-1/2" squares
made up of 2 pieces of contrasting fabric cut in a diagonal and pieced
together so that it makes a 1" finished square when placed in the
quilt top. I have 5...

finished! by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
I am celebrating some of those 10-min. projects Butterfly taught us about.
In the last ten days or so I finished two 10-min. sleeves on wall-hangings,
and a 10-min. binding on a quilt. Hurray! Now tomorrow I am going back to
the Starflake quilt for our queen-size bed, and turn it into one of...

My "new" stash. by
John
Today, a friend of my wifes came over to the house with a present.
This woman had recently lost her mother and she was going through the
things to clean out the house in order to put it on the market for
sale. She brought me a large plastic trash bag with bolts of small
print quilting fabric and...

OT shortening prom dress by
Betty in Wi
This is way off topic, but my problem at the moment. To shorten crinoline,
can I just cut off? or do I need to hem it? Thanks in advance.....I'm a
quilter, not a seamstress.

Wanna trade? by
Sunny
Self-delusion is one of my better traits eg, and in a wild fit of
such I bought Carol Doak's "50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars." It's a
fabulous book with incredible instructions, including an instructional
CD in the back. But it's not me. Anybody want to trade? I could use
something on...
