Red Heart Super Saver Yarn by
[email protected]
Hi Everyone,
Since Wooly and Noreen were talking about yarn and the weight, I
thought I would let you know what is happening with the Red Heart Super
Saver, it's being downsized too. A couple weeks ago I was at Walmarts
and picked up a skein of blueberry pie and one of plum pudding. I
thought the...

Wearable cotton yarn? by
Jenn Vanderslice
Good Morning everyone,
I'm interesting in finding a cotton yarn (worsted weight) that won't
thin like Sugar n Cream or Kitchen Cotton. I'd be happy with a yarn
that has some polyester or nylon in it to prevent shrinking. Does such
a yarn exist? I'm wanting to make throw pillows that are soft...

OT, very OT, a RANT and RAVE, grrrrrrrrrrr by
YarnWright
I am SO ticked off at DHL, the USPS and the VitaminShoppe!
I placed an order at the Vitamin shoppe last monday, the 26th, early
in the day, which 'they' claim for one that I placed on the 27th.
They FINALLY acknowledged my order on the 29th, stating that it had
been shipped on the 28th.
They gave...

I need help! I know a lot of folks like "felting"...but it simply
hasn't been something I was "into"...until now. I am supposed to teach
knitting at a store that uses Lion Brand instructions. The current one
is a "felted purse". Okay...I followed everything in the instructions

Things I've learned... by
Slinky
General lessons: Check your gauge often and at many locations on the
work. When I was doing the pattern overhaul I failed to account for
the fact that a stranded fabric made with sport-weight yarn would be
thicker than if I used worsted-weight and made an unstranded fabric.
Fortunately my gauge...

About the Not Really 6 x 6's by
Kira Dirlik
Since this topic has come up in another thread, I'd like to make a few
comments on the Not Really 6 x 6's, if that is okay.
Firstly I just love Shelagh's solution with her comfort afgan. It is
almost like a crazy quilt. The black background is a major element
and it doesn't matter at all how...

question about books by
GJeep4x4
Hi everyone,
I have been knitting for a couple years now and I think I want to try my hand
at crochet. I have seen an advertisement for "Crocheting School" I am not sure
who the author is, has anyone had a chance to take a look at it?? Or does
anyone else have other books that were helpful...

6x6 fun and lessons...LOL by
Els van Dam
I have been working on my 6 patch. It is in two colours I thought that
this would be a good time to try the two coloured knitting. Using left
and right hand at the same time. The pattern is an easy one, out of my
Norwegian knitting book. The first tries were frogged, not once but
several times....

My first project...a common mistake? by

Hi All! Thank you for the warm welcomes! :) Over the past week I've
seen person after person join in this group and you're all so sweet to
every one of them. There's such a nice atmosphere in here! I
wonder...how common is this error for new knitters? The first project I
ever knitted was a...

News by

Good Saturday morning, everyone.
Noreen and Els already know my news, but I asked them to keep my confidence
until the time was right to share it. Now I think it is.
For the past year, I have been experiencing changes in my life, which have
culminated in my being called to ministry in the...

Felting - Knit or Crochet? by
Sarah Carter
I was thinking about making a few felted bags.
I've knitted an oversized bag before and then put it in the washing machine
to shrink it, and wondered if a crocheted piece would work in a similar way?
I was thinking that a double crochet piece might end up being too "holey"
and need lining whereas...
