Hi Laura, For my money, Wooly is correct. To slip knitwise sets the stitch up backwards on the following row. That is the hind leg of the stitch is closest to the tip of the needle. A stitch that is properly oriented on the needle has it's front leg closest to the tip of the needle. My advise...
