choosing a glass grinder by
[email protected]
I need some help choosing a glass grinder. I took some stained glass
classes a while ago and started a fairly large project (it is a window
with a geometric pattern) Since then the man who had the stained glass
store moved and the store closed. Unfourtantly I was not able to buy a
grinder from...

Sand Glass Ratio by
[email protected]
A friend and I were discussing glass, neither of us has any experience
working with glass or any technical knowledge of it. We were wondering
how much sand it takes to make even a small amount of usable glass.
For example, how much sand would be required to make a window 2 ft. by
2ft, with a...

Summer Vacation by
Glassman
Finally delivered my last big job before a well deserved vacation next
week. We're taking my last of 3 kids upstate to college, and will be empty
nesters finally! A stop over in Niagara Falls and then off to Vegas for a
few days to break the bank. This is the time of year that I actually clean...

Who is your favourite glass-craft guru? by
Tony Burch
Hi all,
I was just pondering the idea of "gurus" & I thought the following questions
may hopefully make some interesting & entertaining discussion:)
Including people in this newsgroup & others in the field, whom do you
consider to be the present-day "gurus" in glass-craft? ...I mean the people...

Oxy generator by
NONE
FYI:
I am not connected to the Eugene Glass School in Eugene OR just happen to be
on their mailing list from some past classes I have taken.
I thought I would forward this on in case anyone is intested in the
possibility of a real cheap Oxy unit. Below is the info for their annual
raflle.

New Glazing Stuff by
Glassman
Anyone else get a sample of those thin black plastic strips to be used in
the lead came hearts? I got a handful of them in the mail to try out. You
insert them and then use a heat gun to get them to liquify in place. By
coincidence I repaired a big panel this week that used those strips inside...

Fusing fusing fusing by
Kalera
Today I finally moved all the random crap that's been clotting up my
studio space, hauled my fusing kiln out of the basement, and am in the
middle of the first fusing project I've done since we started
construction in January. Just a bunch of cabochons, but you know, it
feels nice.
Now if I...

Firing Paint Questions by
Glassman
I have a few questions on firing glass paint. It's very simple black
enamel lines on yellow GNA, 4 x 6 piece. What temp and for how long? I
actually want the reams on the glass to go away, which will be a better
match, so can I fire it higher and/or longer? Do I need to wait for the
paint to...
