OT Weather and such by
Ginger in CA
It is raining "cats and dogs" right now. I have to go to work in about
an hour. Thank goodness the drive is only 5 miles, not the 50 miles up
the coast like I used to.
Everyone is on flood watch around here. We had a fire a few miles away
late last year, in the hills. and we cannot forget La...

showing cat fabrics to advantage by
Ginger in CA
A semi-local fabric shop has a quilt challenge due in July using Laura
Birch's cat fabric. I am thinking how to do a small piece that is based
on the title "Who Let the Cats Out?" Came up with designing paper-bag
looking pockets with parts of fussy-cut kitties hangin out :)))
Simple piecing that...

Not OT Wishing to trade by
Ginger in CA
I am looking for a copy of "Celtic Quilts; A New Look for ancient
designs" by Beth Ann Williams (pub 2000). I have been out-bid on eBay
twice now for this book. If anyone has a copy they no longer want in
their collection, or for some reason have two copies (ask me how I know
how this can be...

Well, we got in late last night. Sorry, I will not have the time to

and good thoughts, howdy to the newbies.
We left at 3AM on Thursday morning from Oxnard. Yes, we got up at 2AM!

OT : Locks of Love by
Ginger in CA
Has anyone here donated their long hair to this organization? I decided
last summer to do this, and DH talked me into waiting until this year.
He wanted me to wait until May or June, I agreed to 1st week of March.
My hair is almost to my waist (3 years ago it was only 3 inches long
all over!) and I...

Hunting for goat fabric by
Ginger in CA
No, not hunting goats! Goat fabric is needed by our "token male" at a
little quilt group I joined in a nearby town. Rex is a retired farmer
who took up quilting and sewing to keep busy. He is a real funny guy,
and is making a goat quilt for his friend. He is looking for both a
panel that has goats...

OT : Gone, gone, gone and done it by
Ginger in CA
Well, went and had my hair cut off for Locks of Love tonight. After the
cut and my hair dried, it is just at collar length, verrry wavy/curly
all on its own. The gal was surprised that cutting it and getting rid
of the weight had so much difference within 5 minutes. She was sure it
is a perm (it's...

Simple pouch made by
Ginger in CA
This morning I needed to make a small holder of sorts. I made a simple
pouch in less than half hour.
Cut two 9" squares of fabric, coordinating if you like. I chose a
Native medallion print with a dark red coordinate. Decide which will be
the lining. Sew them together with 1/4" seam, right sides...

Sewing machine addict, no t OT by
Ginger in CA
Hello, my name is Ginger, and I think I am a sewing machine addict. I
have accumulated 7 (yes, seven!) new-to-me sewing machines in the last
18 months. The youngest is my Singer 834 dating from the 1970's, the
rest are much older. My most recent acquisition was a Singer 99 from
eBay on Monday...

Trying to post by
Ginger in CA[_2_]
Don't know, having problems posting here.
I have a new gmail account due to the gun club business, so that is what may appear here now, but the msn.com account I have used for over a decade is the correct one for this group. No clue. I am so techno geekless!
We'll see if this works.

Wondering if anyone has used them before?
Wondering of anyone has a Hunter's Star packet in their stash they no longer want and would consider rehoming it?
Have a peace-filled/piece-filled day,
