Lion Brand Wool-Ease question by
Kira Dirlik
Hello,
I'm new to the group. I have a question about Lion Brand
Wool-Ease (4 ply worsted weight 20% wool 80%acrylic). I am thinking
of using that as the major yarn in a sweater, plus for the minor
pattern some very expensive hand spun/hand dyed wool. I have found
the perfect color in the...

converting 7x7 to 6x6 by
Heather and Reggie Fulbright
Hey all, I have a book that consists of 63 different patters for squares
that are 7x7. There are some really pretty patterns, and I wanted to use
them for my 6x6 squares. Having read in a prior post that it's better for
the squares to be smaller than 6x6 than to be bigger, I need to know how...

OT (sorta): Time to myself but sad... by
Allaya Diep
Hello everybody
I just wanted to write because you all seem to be much wiser than me in lots
of things, and since I don't have a mother to get any advice from, I
consider you the next best thing. :)
I finally got some time to myself today. I was excited at the thought
because I have an aran...

Bead Knitting by
Ranee Mueller
I have finally given up on the hope that the baptismal gown will be
ready for Amira. So, I will keep at it, maybe we'll have another child,
or maybe I can give it to our first grandchild. :) However, Amira
needs something special for her baptism. Since I can't sew (though I'd
like to), I will...

searching for names and uses of hand spinning equipment by
Wood_Butcher
Readers of rec.crafts.textiles.yarn:
My great grand-parents immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900's and my
great grandmother
would spin her own wool. We still have her handspindle and a "stick" about
3' long and 3/4 " in diameter
with what looks like a fineal that sits on top of the stick. ...

jacquard sock yarn by
Princess Spendalotta
I am making a pair of socks for my daughter-in-law using the Regia jacquard
yarn. I LOVE IT!! I am delighted with the rows of colors and fair isle
effect achieved by simply knitting an ordinary pattern.
Am I the only one????

Blankets for America by
Nicole
I would just like to alert this group to a newly formed group that
makes blankets for children and adults at risk, in shelters, or in
need of extra support. Currently we are working on projects for
babies and preemies. Later in the summer we will be making blankets
for Pine Ridge Reservation in...

folks, it was out of this world.
I bought three more sock patterns after being determined not to! AND

Hi all. I'm spitting mad about an order I placed with Patternworks, and want

online with Patternworks on the night of April 14. They received it April
15, shipped it April 16. Here it is May 1, and I don't have it yet. They...

grrrr...Halla, have you seen the forecast? by
spampot
I'd been counting on nice weather for the "Sheep and Wolf" festival but
my mother wants to come up on Saturday since the forecast is for
thunderstorms Sunday -- and it's predicted to be in the 80s Saturday! I
hate trying on sweaters when it's hot. Sigh. Oh well. I'll make sure
to stop by Indigo...

ANyone here used SoySilk? by
spampot
I confess to being absolutely fascinated by the SoySilk, Ingeo Silk, and
Bamboo Silk. Has anyone here used these yarns, and how do they feel and
hold up? I can't decide whether to do a scarf, sweater, or what, but I
MUST knit something out of Soy Silk!
