Duvet cover for blanket without ties by Myrna
HI, Everyone, I recently purchased a duvet cover for a blanket I've had forever. It does not have corner ties. So I'm wondering what you'd suggest I do to be able to use the ties in the duvet cover. Should I sew buttons onto the blanket? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, Myrna

sewing machines. LOTS of sewing machines. by Jack Campin - bogus address
Marion and I spent Xmas and New Year in Istanbul (well, actually, New Year and the Muslim Feast of the Sacrifice, as Xmas hardly exists there and we like it that way). One place we went to was one I've been curious to visit for a long time: the centre of Turkey's cassette/CD/DVD industry. From...

White Sewing Machine Model No. 742 by larah
I just recently received a White machine Model No. 742 for my birthday. It was my Aunt's mother's and the manual is nowhere to be found! I called White and they said the manual is out of print. HELP! The top needle does not go down far enough to catch the bobbin thread. Does anyone have any clue...

Loops for pearl buttons? by sewing_girl
Hello all, I am new to this group and have a problem you folks might be able to help with. I am sewing a blouse that takes pearl buttons, but instead of button holes I was hoping to use loops. The trouble is I can't find any button loops to purchase. Should I plan to improvise my own? I already...

Has anyone ever worked with unprinted vintage patterns? by Kelly
I got a new sewing passion this Christmas. Vintage patterns. However, I've never worked with the unprinted variety. Have any of you worked with them? Do you have any tricks that might make it easier when I try to sew with them? I've already discovered that the sewing instructions are next...

Bras again... by Georg
Got that recommended book for Kissmoose as per requested. I love my family for shopping from the list! I have picked a bra for destruction and will attempt it. Since I don't want anything with elastic, I'm going to opt for tying it like a corset. I'll probably try to make it slightly longer...

SILK CURTAINS by braygirl
Despite being a curtainmaker for a long time, I recently had trouble sewing on 3" pencil pleat heading tape to pure silk embroidered fabric which was also blanket thermal lined. The effect on the right side was that the material was pulling to the one side, along the 3" heading, despite pressing...

Singer sewing machine question by Steve Pope
I'm a novice here so bear with me. I have in front of me a new, never been used Singer "Prelude" sewing machine. My conclusion is the machine is defective, as follows: when the machine's wheel is rotated so that the take-up lever is at its highest point, the take-up lever still does not protrude...
