An industry unraveling
Special Report: Foreign competition has been creeping up on U.S.
companies that spin yarn, weave fabric and sew clothing. The industry
has adjusted by consolidating, scaling back U.S. operations and
refocusing overseas.

"Entrepeneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing" by
CHRIS O SULLIVAN
Just want to let people know that this book, by Kathleen Fasanella, is
available on Amazon. Kathleen is the seller and I believe there are
only fifteen or so left. The book has been very difficult to get and I
highly reccommend it.

ears on that two piece teddy bear pattern " 2/24/2004 making teddy
bear ears round "
It seemed like it took forever to get that new floppy disc...

"Sew What's New" TV series in 80's by
William S.
I can vaguely remember a TV series broadcast on TLC
called "Sew, What's New". It featured a rather
distinguished male host who was funny at times and
demonstrated sewing technique.
Can anyone tell me who the host was and if the show
is available on tape or dvd or still being broadcast?
He was...

"Sweater pic" -- where can I find one? by
Carolyn
I used to have a small tool which I was told was called a "sweater
pic". When you would get a "pull" in your sweater (for example, your
cat grabbed it and a piece of the weave was pulled into an extending
loop), you could insert this instrument from inside the sweater and
draw the "pull" into the...

'Invisible' elastic by
Arri London
Thinking of remodelling something where the elastic will show. Anyone
use this stuff at all? It's sort of pricey, so don't want to waste it
doing something unnecessarily stupid.

'new' fabric by
AK&DStrohl
I was just perusing the www.denverfabrics.com site and I came across a
fabric type that I had never heard of before. Silk Gazar. It looks almost
cloudlike. Can't tell if it is translucent/transparent/opague. Soft hand
or fimer/crisper?
Does anyone know?

Good News!
Do you know how simple it is to go to Heaven after this life has ended?
Some people believe that belonging to a local church, temple, mosque or
synagogue will get them to Heaven.

.jpg converted to embroidery? by
Terry
How does one take either a photo or a simple drawing in jpg format and
convert it to a format readable by electronic embroidery sewing machines -
Janome, Brother, etc. Has anyone written a simple computer program that will
make the conversion?

1" Grommets by
Mignon
Hello! I have made great drapes and purchased a really nice rod; then it
occurred to me that I need to have 1" grommets. I've checked all of our
local fabric stores and can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know a source
for 1" grommets, along with the appropriate sized punch?
Thanks!
