VERY OT Me, again, with another update by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Friday morning, very early, I developed cellulitis in my surgery leg. There
was some concern by the ER doctor that the infection might travel to my new
hip prosthesis, so I spent all of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and most of
Monday and Tuesday flat in bed with my leg elevated gobbling...

OffTopic for quilting - OnTopic for crafts by
Di
Hi all,
I am looking for help on how to use a Daisy Wheel. I have my mum's and
would dearly love to learn how to use it - bearing in mind that I am an
apprentice senior.
Is there anyone on here who might have instructions they could email me or
point me to a website.
I have googled and found...

My sewing machine came undone! by
Phyllis Nilsson
I've been cleaning my basement and decided to close my sewing machine up.
Took off the thread, laid the spindles down, lifted up the front edge, and
lowered the head into the well. Unfortunately, one side came unhinged.
I will not admit to how long it took me to figure out I couldn't put it...

Blue & Yellow king-sized monster finally done! by
desert quilter
This project was over a year in the making, but I am pleased to say my
mom & I have finally finished it! Woo-hoo! I've already sent a
personal email to the ladies who contributed scraps of yellow to the
project--but if I missed a contributor, then please accept our sincere
thanks! We might still...

Oh no, I've bought a misprinted pattern book by
Debra
I went to a quilt show today and bought some things including a
pattern book by Jeana Kimball. Unfortunately I've found the book is
missing two patterns. The pages are there but nothing is printed on
them, not even the numbers. I really would like to have a complete
book since I paid for it. ...

Carissa
Hi,

flowers, but is not the same one as listed over on quilterscache. However
the pattern called "basket of chips" is almost exactly the same, excpet the
center block is just a large 6.5 in hst (not a bunch of little...

We're all finished with our guild show. This year we had a judge for
the first time. There were too many ribbon winners to post all of
them, but these are ones -- 1st places and special ribbons -- in this
album:

Wimpy SM? by
dogmom
My Bernina 1008, which I've only used for about 2 weeks (bought 3 years ago)
seems to get the needle out of line really easily; consequently I'm breaking
needles at a record rate. She'll just stop sometimes at 4 layers of cotton
(not even denim); when I coax her through, the needle is out of...

OT - new photos by
Johanna Gibson
My photos were sadly out of date, so I've uploaded many, at:
http://community.webshots.com/user/Jo_in_Scotland including 2 quilts
and some other patchwork items. Plus the growing-like-weeds triplets,
and the 2 new cats. Enjoy!

Focus on Design: Churn Dash by
Pat in Virginia
Hello! Every once in blue moon, I post a Focus on
Design thread. The purpose is to encourage conversation
about quilt top patterns. This is not the place to talk
about the QI, nor chocolate, nor the relatives, nor
weather; it is okay to mention those once in a while,
but THIS thread is about...

This website was mentioned on "The Lab with Leo Laporte" tech show - I
thought that it might be a good way to introduce kids to user-friendly
websites. The download is free but donations are welcome.

Designer1 question/request by
Val
Who in the USA, has a Designer1? I'm in Seattle. I need a HUGE favor. I
have scoured every box, bag and everything else I can think of to find where
my dongle was packed. During my move I was in the hospital and my place was
packed, in my absence, by four people. Things were partially unpacked...

info on Babylock or machine embroidery by
Karen Antalek
Hi everyone, I used to post on here quite a bit, and then lost my way
in finding you all again. I am still quilting, but have also added a
BabyLock Esante to my hobbies, so have been doing machine embroidery as
well. I had discussion groups for both machine embroidery and for
BabyLock...

New Project by
Maria in NC
I have started a new project, I will make quilts for all the babies in
our church. That will help reduce my stash and I can easily quilt the
smaller quilts on my own machine. So far I have made two and delivered
them. I have four more to make (for now, lots of young people in our
church ;) ),...
