Silly question by
Cryn
Hello everyone
I'm delurking to ask a silly question. The answer must be obvious but I
haven't found it anywhere!
I'm making a baby quilt this weekend as my second grandchild is due on
Tuesday. I've made lots of clothes and love hand embroidery so I thought -
how hard can it be? I 've kept it...

Patti Reed Jungle Babies quilt ideas? by
gwen
My friend is expecting her first grandchild, and we are all so
excited, for many reasons... and her DD loved the "Patty Reed Jungle
Babies" fabric, so I have both the all-over print and the fabric with
individual animals in 'boxes' .... but can't think about a baby quilt
design to utilize the...

Good news and bad news (not OT) by
Sandy Foster
The bad news: my car is sick. Really sick. It won't start at all, and
we're waiting for a part to arrive so it can be fixed. In the meantime,
I'm mostly housebound. And that leads me to the good news! G I
finished hand quilting, binding and labeling my Teatime quilt! :D It's
all bluework blocks,...

A question about rotary cutters. by
AlenasMom
I'm typing one handed, so please excuse any spelling mistakes.
Do you find a rotary cutter useful? (Is this a dumb question?)
Where did you find yours, and roughly how much are they?

OT - Recipes which use olive oil or balsamic vinegar? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello folks,
I received olive oil for Christmas - went to the cupboard and I
already have 3 bottles of it! Plus 2 bottles of balsamic vinegar.
Clearly I'm not using it as fast as I am receiving it.
Do any of you have great recipes for using these ingredients? I
would like to try them...

Sizing v. Starch by
joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska
I have cans of both and have discovered that I really like the sizing
when working with bias cuts in blocks. What is the difference between
the two? I seem to remember someone on Simply Quilts saying that you
should use starch, as sizing just doesn't work. Or maybe it was the
other way...

quilting-what's it take? by
Taria
I have spent some time thinking about Cindy's note mentioning buying a
big machine to get all her tops done up. I am having a tough time
trying to figure out just what it takes for this hobby to feel right
for us. For folks in the old days they had almost nothing. A needle
and scraps got them...

OT - the Olympics are great, but.... by
Queen of Squishies
Seems like all I can ever catch on t.v. is the swimming. I really
appreciate the strength, competitiveness, and effort that goes into this
event. I really do. But - I'm getting disappointed to be just watching
only swimming! Does anybody know when, or IF, I can catch some equestrian
events? Or...

Press left, press right by
Polly Esther[_5_]
We've all heard the Quilt Police. Press this way; press that. Aim toward
the feed dogs, aim away. Pin before and aft and in the middle. Sew over
pins. Don't.
I've declared myself an 'expert'. For those of you who don't know, an
expert is someone 50 miles away from home with a...

New photo by
Charlotte
I just checked out the photobucket website and figured I'd give them a try.
I have just set up an account and uploaded a picture of the pattern I tested
last month. For now there is just one image, but after I play with it a bit
to see what I really think of it (so far I like) I may add more...

Okay, everyone, I figured I'd pick your brains since I seem to have

make. The first is for a little girl who just turned 1 on December
16th, the second is for her sibling due in May. I know, why did I wait
until the litlte one...

OT - Child car seats by
Lizzy Taylor
I have been trying to check out the various regulations on children in
cars for our trip down I-95 and am now very confused. Over here in the
UK both boys (aged 4yo and 6yo) use child seats (made from polystyrene
with a fabric cover - hence light enough to bring as baggage) that use
the adult...
