OT Rant about posts by
frood
Rant ahead.
I'm not sure when, or why it changed, but there used to be a time, not so
long ago, that people censored themselves. Things said in public were kept
to a certain level of politeness. Most people didn't curse in public. Most
people were careful about the audience they told off-color...

Need help/tips learning Free-Motion Quilting by
Pat S
I am an experienced sewer for 30+ years. I've been quilting for over 20,
machine piecing and usually hand-quilting. Any machine quilting I've done
is fairly straight sewing with a walking/even-feed foot. I turn envy-green
at the free-motion work, the skill it takes.
I have an almost new Brother...

Quote for baby quilt label by
Trixie
I know this has been discussed multiple times in the past, but does anyone
have the quote used for the label on a baby quilt, to encourage it to be
used?

Where do I oil the Janome 6500 Pro inside the chassis by
[email protected]
I know about the wick under the needle plate and I know about the needle bar.
It is almost impossible to get to the closest dealer (distance and health issues). I clean the machine often already (removing the covers).
I would like to know where the service tech lubricates (and with what). I can...

way OT - but I did learn it here by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
I recently received, and today just tried for the first time, my Bare
Minerals make-up. Wow! How tasteful, and how pretty! I no longer have to
look like death warmed over, not even now. And it's amazing how it doesn't
even really look like make-up. Thank you, all of you, who talked about...

OT - Chocolate cupcake recipe? by
Johanna Gibson
I was all set to make chocolate cupcakes, but my American cookbook
doesn't have a recipe for them! How can this be? It has various
recipes for muffins... which leads me to wonder: What is the
difference between a muffin and a cupcake?
Anyway, I know many of you love to bake, so can someone help...

OTOTOTOT - Folgers Coffee by
teleflora
Arghhhhhhh. I just got back from my local grocers and there was not a "can"
of Folger's Coffee on the shelves. Only Maxwell House.
I found a store guy and he said the Folgers coffee plant is down south,
Mississippi or La, he wasn't clear. But he said it would probably be a month
before they were...

Tuscan Vintage Quilt by
Sally Short
I just recently finished 5 crib quilt tops in various animal prints. This got rid of a lot of prints left over from other baby quilts. Now that I have whittled down my stash, it's time to move on.
This quilt I am now in the process of making is named Tuscan Vintage Quilt and the quilt pattern...

OT Survey- sharing a computer? by
Leslie in MO
Just curious.... I'd like to ask the adults with partners (married or
whatever) whether they share a computer or find each having their own works
better for them. We have 2 puters and a laptop but always seem to share my
basic/cheap little set-up. The "big fancy" computer with all the bells...

My niece wants to learn... by
Mary Anna
My 9 year old niece spent the night with us last night, and asked me what I
was doing while I was sewing some squares together. I told her that I was
learning how to make quilts and she immediately asked "Can you teach me
how?" Well, of course I was happy to do that!
I wasn't sure if she'd like it...

Fair price for Bernina 1030 by

I've been shopping around for a good sewing machine for machine
quilting. My local dealer has 30 percent off new machines right now,
so I could get a Quilter's Edition 153 for $1,850 plus five classes on
the machine and a two-year complete coverage warranty, five-year
mechanical.
