Blackwork for Dummies by
anne
At yesterday's EGA SIG meeting, someone was working on a blackwork design for
her Master Counted Thread Stitching certification which was absolutely
gorgeous!!! The technique intrigues me because it's so 'clean' as opposed to my
usual freestyle whatever works projects.
If y'all could point me to...

Needlework Poll - Thank You by
Dianne Lewandowski
Thanks to all who participated. I know more will respond, but I have
what I need - since it's not scientific anyway. I'll continue to read,
but won't keep track unless I see a noticeable trend in another direction.
Some of you wrote such charming prose along with your answer. They were

Amusing story by
Joan E.
I'm currently in California visiting one of my sisters. My dad & I
went to the hardware store to get some things and while we were there
he started having some problems--we thought it was heat stroke because
he was light-headed and had been in the sun. Being 84, the store
personnel called the...

Any thoughts on taming this stuff?
I am most likely going to frog what I've done and just use the called for
floss and add some blending filament to it.

Shops in London? by
S.Cordelia
I am going to London with my family and would like any recommendations
of good needlepoint stores (I do not cross-stitch much, mostly
needlepoint and no knitting). Also, any fine dress goods and notions
stores too (besides Liberty's). Thanks!

I was looking around for Barbara Grainger's book - still haven't found it - and
found this place:

No affiliation.
It looks like a good site, although the site search engine sucks. It doesn't
have one. Has anyone here dealt with them?

According to my book, Black Walnuts only grow in Southern Ontario. HTH.
*Only* in Ontario? Then the squirrel that planted the seed which grew
into the black walnut tree in my mother's front lawn in North Dakota
must have had *quite* the trip!!! ;-)
Not as long a trip as the one that...

dating (was OT - Pet Dreams? by
Cheryl Isaak
( I started this before the ice storm hit and took the power with it!)
First - what ever rule we make for him, has to apply to her. So, since we
are especially worried about her dating, it makes sense to make the age as
late as possible. Is no dating in college a bit over the top? yes, but
