Black and White Quilt by
edhquilter
I have a lot of nice black, white & red fabric. I am having a devil
of a time trying to decide on a quilt pattern for this. I thought
maybe some of you might have some ideas. I will be making a queen
size quilt.
I enjoy reading your posts. Pat

Computer problem, not quite OT by
Sartorresartus
OK, so the sewing room is up and running.
I've reaquainted myself with my Bernie Artista 180; even re-watched
the VHS.
I know I can't attach it to my current computer via USB, and even if I
could apparently (please tell me if I'm wrong about this) it isn't
compatible with Vista, and Bernina are...

Will will I learn by
Cindy Schmidt
You would think that after 5 years of sewing colorguard flags, twice a year
now that I would be more careful when sewing them.
I can't tell you how many times just tonight alone that I have had to rip
some out because there was an additional layer underneath. This stuff is so
slick that it...

OT sewing pj pants question by
Judie in Penfield NY[_5_]
(this has nothing to do with quilting except that once I get a few more
sewing projects finished I need to start on a quilt, either for myself
or the little one who is to arrive in January. I've asked this over on
the sewing group but so far have gotten no answers and I'm needing to
get these...

Does anyone have a need for them?

OT totally longish QI story by

what we do around here for fun on hot summer evenings. Taria
So Ginger dog is out in the yard going nuts over one of the old sewing
machine heads I have planted in the garden. She is relentless. Flowers and
dirt have flown and she is ready to keel over from being there so long and
working so...

As many of you know, I volunteer at the local Christian Clinic- we provide
free medical care to low income people. What I wanted to share with
everybody is a website we discovered with resources for free/low cost

Color catchers? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Wow. When my Puss in Bonnets quilt bled and turned everything hot pink and
you recommended Color Catchers, I was impressed.
Today, I needed to wash my new, best, white knit pants.
Tossed in a Color Catcher.
Oh boy and wow. They look like new.
I know this isn't a big event to...

printed muslin? by
Lynn
Hi all -- I used to read rctq ages ago (before new motherhood took
over my life). I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find
patterned muslin. Or, if that's not possible, at least had some tips
on buying the softest white muslin. Here is what is motivating me --
love the idea of...

Warning about an online store by
Jo Gibson[_2_]
I thought potential customers should be warned, particularly
international customers. I placed an order on the 19th of June which
has still not shown up, and after contacting the owner, it now
transpires that the order was shipped to Canada. Now, I've been
ordering online for what - 10 years?...

mislaid fabric found! by
Mary
Over a year ago I found a really neat fabric, purchased 3 yards of it,
and when I got home I went through my stash and found complimentary
fabrics for the backing of a lap quilt and lining of a tote bag. I
put it all into a bag and then tucked it away. And I tucked it away
so well I couldn't find...

Quilting Hoop or Embroidery Hoop??? by
mlh510
Hello,
What is the difference between a quilting hoop and an embroidery hoop? I want to start a new project and am just brainstorming now and find myself in unfamiliar territory. What I want to do is make hanging wall art using wool yarn and the wool rug hooking technique on burlap or course linen...

15-91 by
Cindy Schmidt
Thanks for the info Leslie. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being
taken. I did go to Ebay and seen that some of them are around $100 plus
shipping. But since I can't test drive those, this one looks kinda good. I
might go back in Monday and drive her again. How do I find out when she...

Which pillowcase method? by
Susan Laity Price
The boxes of Novelty fabrics are overflowing. As I tried to straighten
them I decided some of the yardage pieces would make good pillowcases
for the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Those who have held marathon
pillowcase sewing sessions, which sewing method do you prefer? The
"burrito" method on...

Keziah's Baby Quilt is finished! by
Jennifer in Ottawa
The quilt is quite large by newborn standards but the bordering had to
happen this way! The quilt finished at 50"x64" with the kaleidoscope
blocks measuring 7" each, the green border strip finished at 3-3/4"
and the pinwheels were 4" finished. I paper-pieced Keziah's name for
the top border and...

Q's for the serger owners here by
AuntK
Hi all,
I'm entertaining purchasing a serger. Not really sure why except that
I don't have one. I'm pretty sure it will be of the used variety as I
don't want to spend a bunch of $$$ at this point for something I'm not
sure I'll use all that much. I've been doing some looking on
craigslist and...

Best stabiliser for knit fabrics? by
Jo Gibson[_2_]
Specifically t-shirts? I am appliquing things to t-shirts for Baby T,
and I have tried several different stabilisers, only to have them
"tunnel" when removed. I tried several that tear away, and I have tried
a couple that stay in after you've satin stitched around your design.
So which...

Argggggh! by
Sunny[_2_]
I hate paper piecing, especially when I'm brain-addled. But no other
way to get those sharp pointies for a sunburst. I'm waiting for the
sewing machine that will do difficult, precision stitching for you.
You know how bread machines work? Well I want a sewing machine like
that so when I'm...
