"facing" crochet by Christy
Hi, I am new to the group and fairly new to crocheting. I am working on an afgan with multiple squares. In the pattern when doing the edging it says "with right side facing". What I would like to know is which way is it supposed to face? Towards me or away from? Christy

Noro Yarn - breaking while knitting? by Padishar Creel
I have been using and enjoying several kinds of Noro Yarn, but the last two projects have both been a bugger in that it broke on me several times. Has anyone else had this challenge on Noro Yarns. In all fairness, I have only had this problem with two kinds of Noro yarns: Aurora Yarn Blossom...

My good intention ... by Mary Fisher
.... looks likely to go the way of all such. Tomorrow we go to a daughter's farm in Wales. It's Spouse's birthday on Thursday and she's suggested having a family outing to the National Welsh Museum of Wool and you can bet there'll be some yarns on sale :-( Mary

Here are some of the pics (0/1) by [email protected]
Here are two pictures of the centerpiece. IMG_0009a is an overall view of it, IMG_0011a is a close-up view of one of the larger outer pineapples. They shouldn't take too long to view, both files are less than 100K in size. I've left them as UUencoded, most news readers can handle that. I use...

Another really st*pid question by Melinda Meahan - take out TRASH to reply
The instructions on this pattern say "Break yarn." Do I just leave it loose? Do I tie a knot or something with the new color I am starting with? ????? I really did try to search the net and haven't found anything cut and dried. I see things about joins, but it says *nothing* about a join in...

a couple of my finished hats by Karlisa
My 2 year old son Noah reluctantly agreed to model two of my finished hats. Each hat is made with two strands of worsted weight yarn dyed with Koolaid, and I plan on sending them to Warm Woolies, which collects wool hats for charity. Hat #1 is dyed with lime Koolaid and Blueberry Blast (?)...

Sigh... by spampot[_2_]
Well, the Stitches East 2007 brochure arrived in yesterday's mail, and by the time I sat down at the computer to register, only an hour later, half the classes I wanted were already sold out! I expected the Lily Chin ones to be, but jeez. I finally managed to snag ONE Friday afternoon class. ...

felting to fix a "mistake" by Karlisa
I knitted a wool cap with my koolaid-dyed yarn for the charity box. I thought the hat to be way to big circumference-wise, and so decided to felt it by throwing it in the washer. Gauge? I don't need no stinkin' gauge! :-D Oh, it felted (well, not completely) a good deal before I realized...
