Hnyahahahahahahahaha! Finally drafted a pattern! by
Trish Brown
Gee! I can't believe how easy it was, after all my trials and tribulations! I
*finally* got it right!
See, I am a person of what I like to call 'magnificent proportions'. I can no
longer buy clothes off the rack to fit me. I've had a few attempts at making
things for myself, but basically have...

http://www.sewalot.com/fault_finder.htm
Going thru my favorites, and clearing any old or broken links, come across
this page I had. Don't know if any one else has seen this, but figured, it
couldn't hurt to post it.
There is also a page on Tension Adjusting.

Lucy (Peanuts) costume needed by
[email protected]
My friend's daughter has recently been cast as Lucy in "Your A Good
Man, Charlie Brown."
Here's her dilemma in her words: Does anyone have any idea of where I
might
get one without robbing a bank, or do I need to find a pattern that
still does puffed sleeves (although I don't sew! I think her...

I have just been in peaking at your site, what a wonderful collection of
sewing you have done; in particular I love the pink silk wedding outfits.
Well done

sewing machine by

I need your input on buying a sewing machine. It needs to be relatively
trouble free, reasonable price, simple to use, simple to repair and a
real work horse. Any ideas???

chiffon--aaargh! by
lady sylvre
the darling daughter has left only two weeks in which to sew a dress for a
wedding she will be in. is is a vogue pattern (oh, pewp), and it is
essentially a dress and overdress. problem is, the fabric for the overdress
is an extremely fine chiffon. and it has a ruffle, of the same fabric,...

Gift fabric by
Tom Farrell
People keep giving me fabric.
In the heyday of usenet, I used to get frequent emails to the effect
of "hey, I've got too much fabric, would you like some fabric?" and
after I said yes an improbably large box would arrive at my home and
I'd get to gleefully dive in and see what treasures had...

My latest... by
Tom Farrell
Well, I sorta finished that shirt we were discussing in a thread
called "buttons". I decided I didn't have a preference between black
and white when I put swatches in the collar area to see how it'd look,
so I used black because everyone else liked that, but changed it to a
band collar.
It's hard...

Altered attitude by
Tom Farrell
It's funny how sometimes we get so used to doing the big stuff that
the small stuff never occurs to us.
I have a shirt I bought last year while on vacation on Cape Cod. It's
a white cotton fishing shirt. I bought it more as an example piece
than to wear, although it is in my size. (I have a number...

sewing without a pattern by
Meghan
I bought this nightgown that I love - but .. it was pricey - fit
almost well enough - and I'd love to be able to recreate it - without
taking it apart. It looks fairly simply - 5 panels, no "structure"
(like underwires) - but I've only ever made anything with a pattern
before.
How can I make a...

why turn clothes inside out for washing by
Alan Horowitz
I first observed people doing this when washing clothes by hand, in
the Philippines. I presumed it was a local folkloric nonsense.
Just recently, I noticed that the fine print of the Care Label of my
jeans, includes a instruction to turn inside out before washing.
What is the reason for it?
