I'm glad you had fun! Mickie is one of the nicest RCTQers I've met - and that's saying something, cuz I think they're all nice! -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm de-fang email address to reply "WoodenSpools" wrote in message

Underground Railroad Quilts was Help with quilt block name origins by Nbhilyard
Lia, Yes!! Do get it on Snopes. Your assessment is mild compared to what Merry Stahel wrote when Tobin's book first came out. A woman in Racine, WI, was so taken with Tobin's thesis and the book that she created a whole quilt project using the patterns Tobin references. I saw the exhibit (at...

Chenille by DL Poke First National Real Estate
Hello Dianne and all other chenille fans, Yes, you finish off the project completely, then place into the washing machine with a pair of jeans, wash on normal wash, the jeans give the piece of chenille a 'real work out'. Roughs it up really nicely. Place in your clothesdryer to dry. Lots of...

Printing on cotton by Janner
I'm sure that I asked this 'ages' ago, but I can't remember what the outcome was. I want to print a picture off my PC on to plain cotton sheeting to quilt. Is there a product that I can get to do this, or do I need a special lotion or printer cartridge or fabric....... Our quilting group is...

OT - Accomodation in Glasgow by Johanna Gibson
Thanks to those of you who helped me! Turns out I'm going to be lodging with the sister of one of my managers at work. Pauline had mentioned before that she had a sister in Glasgow, looking for a lodger, but at the time I thought it was too far from the city centre and I was investigating another...

OT Four Seasons Singles Group 'N Me- very long but funny by The HairyFacedOnes 'N Me
Yes. I went to The Four Seasons Singles Group again last night. It was a much smaller turn-out without the raucous atmosphere of the band and the rip-roaring appeal of twirling around the dance floor to the gravitating sounds of the hillbilly hymns. The cast was set when I came thru the door- they...

update on quilts/pregnancy/etc by CNYstitcher
Marissa, Buy a car when you have some extra money to spare. We *still* have a Geo Metro, and for quite a while, it was our only car - the first car our son ever rode in. Fortunately, after waiting a while, we were able to get a second car (Suzuki sidekick) whic is easier for getting car seats in...

Happy dance by Mel Rimmer
My baby quilt is finished! It's pieced, quilted, embellished, bound, and it has a label. Did I leave anything out? I can't wait to give it to my sister. It feels like it was a group effort because lots of people have given me advice and encouragement. So let's have a group happy dance for a...

POSTCARD Reciever Update by Butterfly
We heard from the 8 yr old's Dad yesterday. He said to pass this onto you: DD's leg still has not healed. She may have anywhere from 6 to 9 more weeks of chemo. One test came back good--the next one didn't, so they are going to be running the 3rd type this coming week. DD has greatly enjoyed the...
