It all comes 'round again.. by
Susan Hartman
The church I used to belong to 20-30 years ago closed down, and there
were two Hardanger pieces I'd made for them that were offered to me for
my current church. Well, the pastor and head of the altar guild were
*thrilled* to get them, and I just spent an hour with them trying
ifferent...

Hello from Down Under by
Sandy Bell
I am a new subscriber to this site and I thought I'd make myself
know. I live just outside Sydney Australia but was born and raised in
Elgin Illinois (long story). I am an avid cross stitcher but will try
just about any form of stitching. I learned about your site from the
books by Monica Ferris...

Not OT Reading & Weeding Glasses by
ellice
Since so many of us need a visual aid when stitching, I thought I'd post
this link for some really sweet readers we saw today, at of all places, the
National Gallery of American Art Book Shop (and they were $1 cheaper).
Anyhow, they were really, really, cute and optically awesome when I tried
them...

OT-For Clean Freaks by
Lucille
I just got this silly quote from the always logical Maxine in my e-mail and
it was just too perfect for those of us who were discussing saving dust
bunnies from extinction or having clean houses.
"Always keep several get well cards on the mantle.....
so if unexpected guests arrive, they will...

ON and Off topic - SCA by
Cheryl Isaak
Is anyone active here, an active member of SCA?
My neighbor's oldest has just joined and while I can help him some, does
anyone have suggests for where to find patterns and/or clothes.
I'll be teaching him how to do the embroidery (as a broad term) for what
ever persona he chooses.
Thanks
Cheryl

Next round of what are you reading? by
Cheryl Isaak
I just finished "Blood and Ice" (Robert Masello). I would tell you don't
bother. Started out really good but then the holes started showing.
Experienced hikers/climbers don't make the mistakes which the "hero" made.

In defense of Facebook by

Frankly, I don't live there, but I do hit FB once or twice a day. I went to
stay in touch with one HS friend who prefers it to emails. I have since
reconnected with a bunch of HS friends and that has been fun. I've even gone
to see one of them play in their 70's cover band. (which was very...

SAS report - long by
anne
SAS (aka Share A Stitch) is the annual seminar hosted by the Tennessee Valley
Region of EGA. Travel to Nashville was easy, since it's just a hop, skip, and 2
jumps from me and a friend (control freak type) did all the driving.
Despite arriving close to check in time, many of the rooms weren't...

Okay, we had to have a new hard drive put into the computer. Now when I
