Newbie question - drilling stones by
Polly Stewart
Hi...new to this group and had a question for you guys. (don't newbies
always have questions?)
Christmas'03 I was given a kilo of stones, 7-14mm-ish, from Brazil.

Very low temp silver solder? by
Charlie
I want to make pendants using a combination of glass, copper tape and
solder. I've made them before but using lead free solder but I'd like to
step up and start using silver solder. What I'm after is something that I
can perhaps paint on somehow and then heat at a low temperature to set.
It's...

Diamond Testers by
Saumya M.
Hi,
I was wanting to purchase a diamond tester and would appreciate if you
could recommend one. Budget would be up to $750.
I would also appreciate if you could explain the rationale for your
recommendation and compare and contrast between the kinds of testers
that are available.
Are there any...

I have been wearing a silver necklace for over 15 years now. It has
never tarnished till i started using the new Head & Shoulders intensive
care shampoo (Blue bottle). After using it 2 or 3 times, my silver
jewelery turned bronze! At first i did not make the connection, however
after lots of...

Help identifying antique ring by
[email protected]
I am looking for some help identifying an antique ring that my wife
recently inherited...
It is a pyramid or cone shaped gold ring with 27 various types of
stones covering the pyramid/cone. We believe it was crafted in Japan
at least 40 years ago. The inside of the ring bears both the "14K"...

vaccum casting machine by
Daniel
Thank you heinrich
I am already using a vaccum cleaner, which allows aspiration casting
(connected to a pressure cooker with a "home made" cover) , easy but
less efficient than vaccum casting in some cases. The idea of "sticks"
of wax, on the side of the cylincer is great. I 'll try asap....

Paul Watson
HI,
I am having trouble with proud pearls on rings coming off. They have a
hard life and are pinned in the standard way.
However if worn every day will free themselves after one year. If
anyone has some advice about how to secure a 8mm button/round pearl
that can stand the above punishment please...

Casting Resin beads? by
Kylie Hoschke
Hi all,
I'd like to try making some beads from casting resin, does anyone have any
hints on this? Has anyone tried it? I've been doing some surfing round but I
haven't been able to find much, and my partner said it would be too
difficult (I think he just doesn't want me to use his sinker moulds!!)...

Papier Mache Marvels by
paula55
I produce feature mirror frames with pulp (my own recipe) and
papeir-mache (my own style; I use all sorts of methods with mache).
Brilliant material and strong! I'm really interested in discussing
this subject with any one on the site really. My aim is to use only
waste material to produce pulp...
