fabric labeling requirements by Gabrielle
I'm creating a small kit that includes a lined cotton pouch to hold two other items made of fabric, also. Do I need to add a fabric label to each of the items, or only the pouch? Thanks. Gabrielle

Bought a Husqvarna 310 and... by Jeffrey P. Vasquez
Hello all, So I eBayed myself a Husqvarna 310 and it came with none of the accessories that are indicated in the normal packing list for the model. While wrangling with the seller, I started searching around, locally and on the web, and haven't been able to find anything at all about purchasing...

sewing garment seams with a serger by Ann Pillman
Hi everyone, I just acquired a serger... and I'm not sure how to get the correct seam allowence (5/8") when sewing garments. What I've been doing for the current project is to sew the actual 5/8" seam on my regular sewing machine and then finish the seam with the serger. Is that what everyone else...

machine problems continued by QuiltShopHopper
I am sewing 100% cotton, two pieces, right sides together, for a quilt block. There are no pins invloved because the pieces are small. Stitch length is 2.5, width is zero, I am doing a straight stitch. I rethreaded the top and the bobbin, cleaned out all fuzzballs and oiled the needlebar. Dogs...

Bagged a FInd! by [email protected]
I felt sorry for her--an older, white-haired woman, she said she no longer sewed, so she was selling her sewing room supplies. She seemed happy that I lusted after her thread-bed. An economical 28' h x18"w, it holds 143 spools--and most of the posts hold a full spool of thread. 120 spools. I am...

I just got a Pfaff 2440, and I am sewing along straight stitch piecing, then the fabric just stops moving along, and the needle sews on ine spot until it pushes the fabric down in a hole and I can't free the fabric or the thread mangle. I have adjusted the top tension and reinstalled the bobbin,...

Fleece - what type for a child's blanket sleeper? by MOMof2
I am looking to buy fleece on-line in bulk to make several blanket sleepers for my sons. I am not concerned about flame-retardance, which, I believe, is why all of the flannels in the store are posted as "not intended for sleepwear." I'd like it to wash well, of course, with little tufting or...

Pattern: Vogue 7507 by molly dre.
Hello there, having learned that it's bad form to ask for a private email in response to a request, I respectfully ask if anyone could check if they have the pattern Vogue 7507 in their collection and if they might be willing to sell it. It's out of stock/print (I don't know the terminology) in...

Dinner! by [email protected]
Ha, bet you're thinking this is OT, right? I found a beautiful deep, true red damask tablecloth and 21--yes, count 'em, 21! matching napkins for $2.00! Most of them never used. Plus a delicate white hand-crocheted cloth for $1.00. Feels like linen thread was used making it, and looks like it was...

Zig-Zag stitch creasing down middle of stitch... by Michelle
I'm a total novice, so please bear with me. I'm trying to use the zig-zag stitch, yet as the machine makes each stitch, it seems to be forming a crease in the middle. It's as if there's a fold right down the line of stitching under the thread. Does this make sense? Am I using the wrong settings for...

Issey Miyake pattern #2651 by Princepessa
Has anyone made this jacket? I have been eyeing it for a while and have finally bought it, but not the fabric yet. I would love it if anyone would share their experiences (and nightmares) with this project. Thanks for your input. P.
