Question re copyright of drawing of Dora by
DiMa[_2_]
Hi all,
I would like some advice re a drawing of "Norah" which I downloaded from
their website.
I printed off an image of Dora dancing, coloured it in, set the paint
(making sure it didn't bleed) and I am now embroidering around the outlines
of the whole image to make into a cushion cover for...

New Webshots photos by
Jennifer in Ottawa
http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2541294450056043956IMENtm
shows my 'brilliant' idea of using an old sweater dryer under the
kitchen exhaust lights to dry multiple free-standing lace embroideries
in a flat position. It used to take me days to dry multiples using any
spare surface in the...

My copyright picture - by
DiMa[_2_]
I have now finished the sewing on Dora and am cutting out the squares for
the cushion cover.
I really don't know why I worried, but thank you all.

Quilt Challenge Stats! by
Jennifer in Ottawa
http://www.trendtexfabrics.com/?p=sec_29
The acceptable finished quilt sizes are monstrous undertakings when
'diameter' is used incorrectly. I'd need more than the allotted time
frame to even consider making a pieced backing for this one! jennellh

new big bernina? by
kratersge
When I had my machine in to diagnose the BSR problem, they were
setting up this monster for a class -- the 820. WOW.
I've seen this on the web, but seeing it in person is different. It
has this monster throat, a 9 mm width on the fancy stitches, places to
put big cones of thread, super sized...

OT somewhat - Making a Cloth Sculptured Dragon by
Michelle G.
My GD wants a cloth sculptured dragon, specifically "Cynder", a friend of
"Spyro" the dragon. Does anyone make or know of someone who makes these
types of things. I've looked all over the web and found patterns for lots
of dragons, but I have never made a stuffed doll, and am not really...

Help with Dresden Plat by
Sherry
One of my goals has always been to make a Dresden plate. I have a
large box of Moda 3 Sisters Faded memories line of fabric that I
hoarded about four years ago when it was available in the shops.
I think it will make a real pretty one; muted pinks and floral prints
and muted greens.and prints.
I'm...

My cousin was looking for a sewing machine suitable
for a child to use as her grand daughter loved to sew
but did it all by hand....they couldn't find a machine made
just for kids.
Well, I just let my cousin know that I found one and thought
I'd post the same info here just in case someone else...

ot - Daddy's car in the woods - joke by
Jennifer in Ottawa
Daddy's car in the woods?
Little Johnny watched his daddy's car pass by the school playground
and go into the woods. Curious, he followed the car and saw Daddy and
Aunt Jane in a passionate embrace.
Little Johnny found this so exciting that he could hardly contain
himself as he ran home...

I would like to find McKenna Ryan's Sea Breeze as a kit rather than
buying all the batiks as fat quarters. Does anyone know a shop selling
the kits? I find kits for her other lines but not Sea Breeze.

Wool Batting by
joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska
I used Hobbs wool batting in my most-recent quilt. And let me say
this about that. That quilt is HOT! I do run warm myself, but this
quilt is suitable for the frozen north! I keep turning down the
thermostat and I've opened the window and last night finally got
comfortable. Temp in the bedroom...

What was 'lost' is found! by

I caged Sammie this morning so that I could do some uninterrupted
searching in the sewing room! I wouldn't really call it searching
since I am still organizing and sorting shelves, etc. I thought that
I would try moving one of the Ikea shelf cabinets onto another shelf
space - I removed the...
