just a quick hi by Cheryl Isaak
and wishing everyone in the US a great Thanksgiving life is good - DS somehow kept his license. But his dress and manners have to have helped quite a bit. (also had an itchy hand - one young "man" was there on a tobacco violation and was incredibly insolent to all - attorneys, bailiffs. and...

what's been going on - or my life in as few paragraphs as possible by Cheryl Isaak
Ok - working a truly funky schedule, sometimes in at 8 AM sometimes at 12 and some times at 2. Make's it hard to get into any kind of rhythm. I am enjoying it as always - 99.9% of customers are easy to work with. The odd jerk does happen and sometimes I end up playing sympathetic listener, but...

off topic -Electricity is a wonderful thing by Cheryl Isaak
We were with out power from late Saturday night until yesterday around 7:30 PM. Birds went to stay with friends with a wood stove Sunday morning. Even lost the cell signal at home by mid day. Played a great practical joke on DD - the family agreement was if there was no power by 7:00 PM last...

OT I'm Back! by Margaret St. John
I haven't checked to see if I missed anything, but I finally have power again. Darn snow in October. New England had an incredible amount of damage. I have friends that still don't have power and might not till Sunday. We were lucky our house never went below 49 degrees and we only had to sleep...

Long stitches by Sara
I am stitching a pattern that has a motif that has an area of long straight stitches in the design. It's Chatelaine's Greek Mandala, the windmills. They looked fine when I stitched them, but now, many months later, the stitches have gone slack and will obviously have to be redone. But how can I...

Book Holder by Sandy Bell
Morning all! I am making a secret Santa gift for my bookclub and wondered if anyone had a pattern (or know a site where I can find one) for a book carrier? It's not a bag as such but something with handles that one can slip a book into. Does that make sense to anyone? Thanks Sandy

Very OT indeed by Bruce
A woman gives birth to a baby, and afterwards, the doctor comes in, and he says, "I have to tell you something about your baby." The woman sits up in bed and says, "What’s wrong with my baby, Doctor? What’s wrong???" The doctor says, "Well, now, nothing’s wrong, exactly, but your baby is a...

OT - for parents everywhere by Bruce
"Doctor, I'd like you to evaluate my 13 year-old son." "OK: He's suffering from a transient psychosis with an intermittent rage disorder, punctuated by episodic radical mood swings, but his prognosis is good for full recovery." "How can you say all that without even meeting him?" "I thought you...

working on plastic canvas hints by Cheryl Isaak
I'm working on a set of penguin ornaments for DD, but it's on 14 count plastic canvas. I don't want to put then on fabric because I don't think they'd be easy to do an alternate finishing technique on. (trust me on this) any hints for making this easier on my fingers? I find my hands hurt...

hello - so what is everyone up to by Cheryl Isaak
I finally finished off the first part of a round robin I'm in and it will be winging its way down to south shortly. While I wait for the next part to come through, I'm working on a set of penguin ornaments I found in The Stitchery catalog, DD has gone penguin crazy in the last year, so it was a...
