Using half stitches in place of full stitches by
deniseb
I believe I read in the Nordic Needle newsletter some time ago that
using half stitches instead of full cross stitches will make a project
go faster. No kidding. But, to get the same coverage -- would you use 3
strands of floss for the half stitches if you would have used 2 for the
full stitches?...

HI!

can find it. Susan herself is
no big help-I had someone at Needlepoint Ltd,Ca.,where she teaches ask
her about the pattern book. All she said...

Back Stitching "Rules" by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
There is a thread going on over at the AOL needlework board about
backstitching. The question about what the "rule" is came up so I thought I
would ask here as I know we have a number of people who are certified to do
judging. When a piece is entered in competition is it the rule that...

Australian floods - Our Oz posters by
MargW
Anybody know what part of Australia Trish is in? And whether or not she
is affected by the floods (or by the drought further south)?
And for all the rest of our Australian posters as well - good thoughts
and prayers on their way. It sounds like a nightmare.

Advice please - on topic by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok - I've finally had to make the switch to readers and distance to correct
my vision enough to stitch, read and drive.
Love the distance - I can do 80% of my normal daily stuff with them, even
the computer if I up the font size a few points
Reading is a dream and stitching is getting better....

OT Deb is fine. by
Gillian Murray
Hi, I just talked with Deb. her power went out yesterday evening, and may
be out for quite a while. A big tree fell, so not only did it knock out
power, but they can't get very far, as the road is blocked. She says they
are just fine, but didn't get to bed until about 3am due to Jeanne's...

Charles Craft Tubes by
Allie Orange
Is it possible to buy tubes like those Charles Craft fabrics come in, either
from that company or from someone else? So many people on RCTN seem to use
them to store fabric and WIP's and they seem ideal.
TIA,

walmart nylon by
g.daniels
wal has a new line of packs and travel bags that are made of a
"ballistic" nylon but ballistic nylon is expensive and wal's new bags
are not.
Is the chinese "ballistic" nylon ballistic in quality and form or is
it anoter fabric entirely that appears as ballistic?

Kay Montclare & Museum Masterpieces Pattern Books by
bree
Kay Montclare, who sold charts of antique samplers from museums, died
a few years ago. Reports on the web indicate that her grandson sold
all her books to a used bookseller who sold them; thus there is
nothing left.
I have several of her charts, but was intending to buy more. Since
they are now...

Quilt Pattern Help!! by

My mother is looking for what she calls a "Holly Hobby" quilt pattern. It's
a Simplicity pattern, but it has a little girl and boy sitting back to back
on a Rocking Horse. The pattern was made in 1974 and she made it for me when
she was pregnant with me. Now, 28 years later she wants to make 2 for...
