Finished, WIP's and 'To Do's' by
Maureen Miller
How long is everyone's list of finished needlework pieces as opposed to
your list of works in progress. Here is what I have compiled so far
from my own stash.
W.I.P. Jean McIntosh's 'English Garden'
Babs Fuhrmann's 'A Winter Scene By Moonlight'
My own chart from photograph ~ finished will be 7"...

Tengwar font in Cross-Stitch? by
Marcia Smith
I have a friend who is searching for the Elvish font (called Tengwar Quenya
or Tengwar Cursive) from J.R.R. Tolkien. She wants to translate the Ring
poem into Elvish and then stitch it. Any ideas where we might find this?
Thanks.

cleaning 25 year old crewel work by
sjharris
I completed a piece of crewelwork back in 1981, and the background has
become discolored. What is the best way to clean it? I'm not sure,
but I think the background is cotton.

stitching complex shading by
thistletoes
Hello all,
I have been enjoying reading all the posts but now am going to ask you
for some advice. I have stitched for a number of years, but mostly
antique sampler reproductions. Now I am taking the plunge to do a
complex pattern with intricate shading. It is Cob Cottage by Cross My
Heart - one...

556 Queen Stitches IR's Mother to Daughter by
Queen City x-stitcher
Ok, I resurrected a UFO. It is Indigo Rose's Mother to Daughter
Sampler. I had put it aside when I got to area #14. It had queen
stitches in a twisted knot pattern. I remember why put it down :-P .
Well that section is now done!!!!!
I have also progressed to the last side of the nutmeg designs...

belated thanks, and new question by
[email protected]
First, belated thanks for the group's help with my two
recent questions. I found the suggestion for how to deal
with Facets by tying a thread to it and pulling it through
the canvas to be most helpful -- my idea about using a needle
with a large eye was way off base. On attaching...

OFF TOPIC - tough news followed by good news by
Cheryl Isaak
Well, it's hockey tryout time and despite DS having a good record, he didn't
make a team in his current league. (don't worry, he'll find a good home)
BUT at the high school hockey brunch, he was named JV Goalie of the Year for
having had no losses.

"The Passion" by
Raine
Hoping I don't open up a can of worms here. . .
Has anyone seen this movie? I just got back and I have to say that was
the most difficult 2 hours I think I've ever had in my life. I cried
almost the entire time and at one point I thought I was going to have
to leave. . .
I feel emotionally and...

Oh, my.... by
Tracey
After having all of my cross stitch experience (little as it is) be
with Aida cloth, yesterday I started my first piece on linen. And
I just have to say. Yuck. Ick. This is soooo sloooooooooooow. :P
Humor me. Tell me I'll get faster as I get used to it.

So I'm reading through blogs today and got to WhizGidget Wonders site

thought of a person I work with, she actually trained...

Confetti stitches and miniature pictures. by
F.James Cripwell
When stitching computer generated patterns of great works of art,
as I have observed before, I am amazed at some of the detail which
these patterns show when stitched. There are times when a few confetti
stitches bring out wonderful details; there are others when such stitches
add absolutely...

basting in lines for cross stitch by
me
I am starting a very small piece of cross stitch but it is being
put(temporarily) on a large piece of fabric that has other stitching on it.
I have begun the process of basting every tenth line down and then across
but have started to think about how long a process this is going to be.
Quite...
