Border help, please by
Denise in NH
I just finished a 9-patch and 1/2 square triangle top and it came out
pretty. I now need to make borders, but don't have long lengths of
material to use, so I have to piece it.
The border will be about 3 inches wide of a very busy small floral
print. Should I sew the pieces together straight or...

If My Body Were A Car
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about
trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches
in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not
the worst of it.
My fenders are too wide to be considered stylish....

prayers needed here, too by
judy in fort worth
I almost hate to make this request considering all of the tragedies that we
are currently dealing with here on the ng but I do think that prayers will
make a difference.
Please add my niece, Ellie, to your prayer lists. She is 23 weeks pregnant
with her first child and in danger of losing the...

Bad start to the day! by
KJ
I was on my way to the sewing studio....SQUISH!!! OH NO! I thought perhaps
the dehumidifier has not shut off automatically. Wrong! Stepping on the
carpet caused water to squish up over my feet. The hot water heater seems
to be the culprit. I have a call in to the plumber, but haven't heard...

DWR Workshop Day 2 by
Bronnie
Further to my post on the workshop I attended this week. We got alot
done on Day 2; continuing piecing, excellent pressing techniques and
learning binding methods for curved edges.
Pam Hill, the tutor, from Brisbane, Qld, was an excellent teacher. She
had originally done the John Flynn method and...

Way OT - my missing son - still by
Marlys in Indiana
I thank all of you so much for your concern. I wish I could relay
better
info to everyone, because that would mean that I was elated at his
discovery, but, alas, that is not the case.
Really, I can't begin to thank all of you enough for caring. It is
truly a
monumental thanks that I want to relay...

husqvarna bobbins by
Frank & Renee
Hi,
I bought a Husqvarna Platinum 750 last week and I have a question about
bobbins. The bobbins for the machine are "proprietary" and that means I'd
have to replace all my bobbins with the Husqvarna ones that are 68 cents a
piece (packed in bags of ten for $6.80) at my local dealer. I already...

Another thunk came today.
I received the two Aurifil thread collections I ordered last Wednesday.

also saw that they had lovely coordinated collections of 12 spools each.
I bought two and they came today with a very nice...

Easy sewing projects for 6-8 year olds? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
Several children in my group have watched me making patchwork
things, and are quite keen to try it! I want to give them some
projects that will not be frustrating, and will be quite easy to
complete. Any ideas? I gave them some scraps to use as bookmarks...
but I'm after some patterns...

Son coming home from hospital today by
Susan Laity Price
The doctor just gave approval for my son to leave the hospital this
afternoon. Sorry to say his new quilt isn't ready but since the temp
outside is 90 I don't think he will notice.
Doctor removed his drains which was one thing I was worried about
caring for at home. The doctor would not give him a...
