Variation on a theme - technique by
Patti
We have often, and lately, talked about binding. I hope it isn't being
presumptuous to tell you about something I have just done (I haven't
seen it discussed here before - and I haven't done it before!). I have
been helped so often by links, and answers including tips, from folk on
the group,...

I'd try here first. (I loaned out my other computer....)

EQ5 yardage estimates by
Michelle C.
I decided I might try to use the yardage estimates in EQ5, but at first
glance, they seem excessive. Does anyone have any experience with this?
TIA!

Florida Quilt show by
Rita
I have just been notified that the Museum of Florida History in Tallahassee
will be holding their 28th annual quilt show from August 28, 2009 through
November 9 2009. The Museum owns my quilt "Osceola, Seminole Warrior" and
they notified me that this quilt was chosen to be exhibited from their...

Saving for a crazy? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
It's all Gen's fault. I looked over at eQuilter to see if they had a purple
packet. Discovered a silk duponi packet with plaids and stripes that will
be 'ah, just right' for the crazy I'm going to make one day. My crazy/fancy
bin has plenty of velvet and solid silks but was sadly lacking the...

Only partly OT by
lynne in toronto
Well, dear folks, it`s great to be back. Here is a brief update.
I took early retirement from my day job last spring, but continue to
teach at the university. Having one job seems enough, although my
teaching load is considered about half to 2/3 of a full load,
depending on the semester.
My DS...

another week of blocks to report by
Susan Laity Price
Made lots of progress on the anniversary quilt this week but neglected
other items on the "to-do list" of everyday life. Company is coming
tomorrow (sister, nephew and wife, first son's girl friend and second
son) so must concentrate on setting house in order and the meal. This
isn't a special...

hand piecing and quilting by
Mary
Am I one of a dying breed? I enjoy piecing and quilting completely by
hand. I have 3 sewing machines, all working very nicely, but really
prefer to do everything by hand even though it takes a lot longer. My
only "modern" thing is that I use a rotary cutter and mat. Otherwise
I could probably...

OT anti-virus programs by
KJ
My Norton is going to expire in a couple weeks. It has also decided to stop
opening, so maybe it's time look at something else. I need some guidance
from our resident computer gurus as to what programs I should put on. I
don't mind purchasing something, so if that's better than free ones,...

Sad, sad news by
Sandy E
Howdy!
Brace yourself, because this is really sad.
Donna A (in Idaho) let me know that her husband,
Wayne, passed away this evening (Thursday).
He was suffering from ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,
aka "Lou Gehrig's Disease".

This situation has happened quickly, and

OT- another health update by
judyanna
The sciatica is still in full force - can't walk.
Well gemsar didn't work either. I'm at the end of the line apparently.
My husband wanted to go back to the first one that only worked for
three months instead of six months. He said it might make me deaf
(because I have ringing in my ears from...

Be good! ;) by
Sandy
I'm going to camp tomorrow, so all of you be good while I'm away, okay?
:) The meager stash (more meager now, since I'm taking all of the
supplies needed for my classes from my stash this time) will be ably
guarded by DH and our very cute (and extremely ferocious G) QI Bisou.
I didn't mark...

double sided double wedding ring quilt - is this possible??????? by
claudia
Good evening everyone
Once again I present a dilemma: I have ordered (and received) several
fabrics that I had intended for a double wedding ring quilt. I would
like to use (try for the first time!) the inklingo method. Only now
that the fabrics have arrived, I can't choose!!!
Let me explain; I...

ten minute quilt by
Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
I have all the alternate nine-patch bocks made, and just a short stack
of them left to finish trimming up. It's turning out so cute! It's
light aqua, brown, and white polka-dots (large and small) and stripes.
Intrigued? grin

Good morning ladies (and gents) by
lynne in toronto
I have been lurking for a few weeks since I got my new home computer.
Some of you may remember me from a few years back when I was a
frequent poster.
It is really good to see many old friends still here, and to see that
we quilters never seem to run out of things to chat about.
So hello, hello,...

Help design a sewing machine! by
Leslie& The Furbabies in MO.
As a diehard Janome fan, I was pleased that Janome is asking *us* what we'd
like to see in a sewing machine- features, etc. And, if you take the
survey, you have a chance to win a felting machine. Go to
http://www.janome.ca/ and click on the 'take our survey' on the right hand
side.
