Update to my quilty things by
Joanna[_3_]
Well I guess I should give an update considering I've commenting again.
I've managed to make a few sets of pot holders. But my main focus right
now is making a blue jean quilt. It will be a wedding gift and the
wedding is Sept 5. So I really need to work hard to get this done. But
as a back up...

OT being hugged by
Anne Rogers
I've not been on here for a while, partly that was rejigging things on
my computer, then other things kept me away.
I received a hug quilt from this group just before Christmas last year,
I had a nightmare with post partum depression and at times the included
me posting stuff on this group that...

I am stunned! by
Pat S
Megwen and I have been planning a day/afternoon together since I moved
to my new place here (she was going to come by train). So, it came as a
bit of a surprise - but not so very huge - when she e-mailed to say that
she and her DH were going to be coming this way today, and would I be in
for...

update on DD by
off kilter [email protected]
She is doing much better! 2nd day of swimming lessons was fine as she
and her brother are now in the same class. She is no longer baby-
talking, and said she isn't really having headaches now - only when
she bumps it....see, clumsiness gene.
SO, thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers,...

Star Spangled Grocery Bag by
John
Here is something I whipped up out of left over squares from some
Veterans Quilts I have been doing for awhile. I gave it to my wife for
taking to her D.A.R. meetings. The Ladies should be drooling all over
it, as they love those patriotic type of things. I just hope she
doesn't come back with an...

Update: Letter from Fons & Porter by
Sherry
For all the complaining I did a week ago, thought I'd share the
correspondence
I got from F&P regarding the stuck-together rotary blades. I have no
idea the
reason behind the change of heart. (Do they read this group? grin)
Funny though, that a week ago their stand was pretty much "Slide...

OT The Almond Thingies with the Chocolate Stuff by
NightMist
So DD3 requested of me today that I make the "Almond thingies with the
chocolate stuff".
Because I am a cross between a complete fussbudget and a total slacker
when it comes to cooking, I will make them tomorrow. That gives my egg
whites time to age properly. No really, this comes out much...

Southern CA Meet-up by
Debbi in SO CA[_2_]
Susan Price and her husband came out to So CA for a family wedding.
They then began their trek down to San Diego. On the way down, they
stopped in Laguna Hills and we met up at A Time to Sew. She arrived
before I did, and my girlfriend called while I was on my way over

Miniature Quilts by
Sally Swindells
I went to a small local quilt show today - Some lovely quilts, but they
mainly seemed to be of the 'Art' variety. I hadn't taken a camera and as
they charged £2 a photo I felt that a camera wouldn't have been welcome
anyway.
One quilt really stole my heart as I came round a corner. 10 blocks...

This evening I had dinner with Susan Laity Price. She and her DH are

It was so much fun to meet up with...

Ping Jeanne by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I've been perfecting (?) making chenille bees to put on a crib quilt. When
I started to tell our group about my discoveries, I realized you are
missing. How can I explain what I'm doing to anybody that doesn't know what
making chenille appliqué is? Where are you, Jeanne? Polly

Letter to Fons & Porter by
Sherry
I bought the 3 pack of rotary blades (again). These were so stuck
together they
were impossible to separate. I tried using two hemostats after trying
to slide them
apart didn't work.I tried to wedge another blade between them. That
didn't work.
I really didn't want to end up telling this story in...

{{{Quilt}}} Photo by
Tia Mary
Hi Guys,
I just posted a photo (not a very good one) of that Hug I was
ranting about -- the one I did for the friend in my Needlework Group who
has cancer. Our camera went T.U. and I had a friend take the photo with
her camera. Seen better photos but it's better than nothing until I get
a...

OT almost, baby rompers by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Sometimes when I need a break and you folks are doing okay without my senile
supervision, I go see what's going on over at alt.sewing.
Tonight, someone there asked about how to take a t-shirt and change it
into a baby romper. It never crossed my mind that such a thing was
possible.
A...
