Left overs.... by
Patricia
Hi -
A nice use for bits and pieces of left over yarn... is to crochet around
wire or plastic hangers.
I use a large hook (j or k), double strands of yarn and SC VERY FULL all
around.
When you have the hanger pretty full it twists around and makes a nice puffy
support for knit shirts and even...

Speed Cro-Sheen by
Barbara Vaughan
I have been thinking of crocheting some throw rugs, as some of you know
from my recent posts. One of the patterns I like calls for 30 balls of
J&P Coats Speed Cro-Sheen, article C44. It is for a bathroom rug that
will measure 24 by 36 inches. It is crocheted with a double strand of
thread, which of...

Finally this works again by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
I had little worries with this system of mine but now OE
works again. Aino invited and I promised so I will go there.
I will be there all night. When new light takes the world, I
return home. And I am gonna knit, nothing to worry.

My knitting and me by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi again ladies!
It is me here. I just came from Aino's place. And there I
sat and knitted away. She is nice lady, as always. Our
friendship is deep and I brushed her hair again. She did not
resist. I got few rows done. Great case! I think I will knit
more when time is right.

Crazy stitch question by
spampot
http://crochet.about.com/library/blcrazyst.htm
I'm really grateful to the about.com people for translating the old
instructions, but I'm a bit peeved that the modern directions being
"make a chain as long as necessary" instead of saying "make a chain of a
multiple of X sts." I really don't know...

Sue,
Thanks for sending me that info about the yarn on ebay, AND for
offering to 'get' it for me if I was uncomfortable with ebay.... (I'm
not, I have an account, grin).
The color just wasn't quite like the beautiful stuff you made my
memento square of, so I have to pass.
How much is left on the...

Farewell to Thee by
Laura Sullwold
Sadly, it is time for me to make my farewells. Tomorrow, I drive down to
San Diego (Lakeside, CA really) and start my job. I get to enjoy blistering
dry heat, lost of sun, and people who have never sat a horse before.
Actually, it won't be that bad. I'm kind of looking forward to it. I have
no...

Rug Weaving? by
ohkwari
She:kon Akwekon, Greetings all. Got a Craw in my cap and now want to
TRY weaving a small throw. I found some BASIC info on about.com but
it's a bit toooooo basic.
Am I correct in thinking that the loom is as simple as a square
picture frame of wood with evenly spaced nails/pegs at 2...

My MIL can be SO unsubtle by
SlinkyToy
So I go to my IL's to work on his computer. I take the garter stitch
shawl. The MIL wanted to know what I was working on - I should have
told her its a williewarmer and let her speculate.
However, I 'fessed up. She immediately started going on about how
cold it is in church and how NICE it...

Small packages by
Bookfan
Has anyone ever made the two bags from the pattern Small packages? I think
it was on a leaflet distributed by J & P Coats using their Crochet Nylon.
Recently I was able to find the yarn to make up the two patterns, one knit
and one crochet, but haven't had the time to get very far on either. I...

I have just recieved the message that Sweedish foreign minister Anna Lind

I am so sorry, and do not know what to say!
I am by her family and you all in my thoughts!
Today is sept. 11. The "symbol of terror", I feel.

Helen and kumihimo and CDs.....big smile by
Els van Dam
Dear Helen what a great surprise I found in our mailbox today. Thak you.
We have tried to use a CD as circle for the kumihimo braiding, but did not
get the slots neat and straight. The edges were just to ragged for it to
be safe to use.
The one you mailed to me in its very own neat box, is...

Rugs thread by
Anna MCM
Past time I went to a yarn shop, I noticed that the neutral color thread
used in waving carpets/rugs (sorry, I donīt know its name in English) is
much cheaper than crochet thread.
Has someone tried to crochet it? I wanted to buy it, but a friend of
mine, who uses it for waving traditional Swedish...

Unloved yarn by
Sarah Grace
Hi RCTYers
The frugal Christmas post got me thinking about how many of us have unloved
yarn within our stashes that somebody else would probably love and that we
could trade with them for something else. It would be a good opportunity to
offload some
excess stash in return for something more...

I have knitted it rather much. I like knitting, can't deny.
The bag is pink. I
think I have told you about the blankie I am gonna make to
use with it. Have
not started that yet but found a pattern for it. Hopefully
it works.
