Home again. by
Olwyn Mary
Turns out I have severe bronchitis, not just a cold. However, as the
hospital is so crowded, and I have had all the ultrasounds, x-rays,
round the clock breathing treatments etc., plus my new nebulizer arrived
today, plus I have a retired husband to help out, the doctor released me
with a handful...

OT - Pronunciation of words by
MRH
Just curious, since pronunciations of other words are being discussed in
another thread... Can someone from England please tell me how you, in your
part of the country, pronounce the word ALUMINUM please?
My late mother-in-law (from Ashford Kent) used to say A-lu-MIN-ium. She is
the only person...

bad etiquette? by
Allaya Diep
Hi everyone
I always thought it would be considered "bad etiquette" to knit in church.
Not that I know much about these things, but it was just something I dared
not do. But a couple of weeks ago, I saw somebody else doing it...knitting
in church! For those of you more experienced, is it okay to...

Your Sunday morning coffee by
NoraBalcer
Good morning everyone,
Yes, I know it's not morning yet for most of us, but did want to get my wishes
for a lovely day here for a change. It's usually late on Sunday afternoon
before I get online, but I'm on late this evening so thought I would wish you
all a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs,
Nora

Where are we from? by

I've been posting for months and lurking even longer. We are such a diverse
group! But I wonder...where are we all from?
I'm in the US, in Pennsylvania.

What is on your list? by
Laura J
Hi everyone,
My mother has asked for a Christmas list from me. I have already added the
ball winder/shift that someone suggested to someone looking for a present
for his knitting wife a couple of months ago. I also just HAVE to get my
hands on Vogue Knitting! But that got me wondering what...

Calling all ewe sheep! by
YarnWright
Just wondering, via reply posts, how many of us are still here, never
left, or have returned to the fold.
Jumping up and down in order to send a tidal waye to Christine from
this direction, ME ME ME, I never left!
Hugs,
Noreen

Still here... by
Carol in TN
I must admit that I am in the same situation as Sarah. I read the messages
everyday but have not posted.
I have moved just a month ago and am still putting things away (and then
sometimes moving them around). Still cleaning and replacing some things
because I seem to be nutty about living in...

a 'dyeing' query by
YarnWright
For you more experienced dye-ers.... would an alpaca silk blend yarn
'dye-up' EVENLY?
Here's the scoop, I'm going to need a black shawl, and I mean BLACK for an
important event this summer. As you know, my eyes can't take it, even
using a white ragg/towel, whatever on my lap, so... I'm thinking of...

a small RANT, if you will by
The YarnWright
FYI:
I happen to be one of those left-wing LIBERAL types, I guess, who believes
that charity begins at home.
Before a single penny of mine goes overseas, I feel there are enough tragic
situations right here in North America that need dire attention.
Long before the hurricanes, and the fires, and...

Hello!
Word has it that the Mystery Knitter has sent me a package. THank you

her aversion to anybody knitting in the house, I will send you something
too!

Would like your advice/ideas by
Soozergirl
Hi, I am visiting my brother who lives in New Jersey this weekend. He has
cancer and probably won't be around more than about a year. I'm totally
bummed about this - he's 51. Anyway, I just thought (well, DUH) that a nice
knitted quilt/afghan might be nice for him - I think he would like it...
