I saw this book in our store the other day, and liked it so much I bought

OFF or maybe ON topic joke by
Lucille
One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river,
her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared
and asked, 'Why are you crying?' The seamstress replied that her
thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her
husband in making a...

OT - a story of the desert by
Bruce Fletcher (remove dentures to reply)
A man is stranded in the desert and has not eaten or drunk anything for
nearly 36 hours. He is about to die. Amazingly, as he stumbles through
the sand, he comes to three market stalls. The man (half-thinking he
must be hallucinating) approaches the first stall and demands, "I need
water, sell...

What`s happened to rctn? by
Pat P[_2_]
Been too busy for more than the occasional glance, but are all these weird
posts a new thing or have they been going on for a long time? (The intrusive
nothing-to-do-with needlework-or-continuing- conversations ones).

One handed stitching by
MargW
So, long story short - I fell off my motorcycle two weeks ago. Thank
goodness for full riding suit with padding, full-coverage helmet, boots
and gloves. Ended up with two broken ribs (healing nicely) and two
broken metatarsals in my left hand. I had surgery on the hand last
Friday and it will...

JCS N/D Cover by
Janet[_3_]
The picture I wanted to be on the cover made it! It's a gingerbread
house designed by Sharon Pope. I'm so excited that this piece made
the cover (jumping up and down wildly in my mind because I'm at work
and have to behave). Elizabeth (the editor) even mentioned me in her
editor's column, One...

Dyan and other Designers by
Donna D.
I think we need designers here. To hear our opinions of what we like in
kits.floss fabrics.
Dyan didn't advertise. Just added his opinion. That's what the group is for.
I have been here along time. I usually lurk but I really enjoyed our kit
topic and everyone's help with it. I didn't know the...

dimensions gold kits by
Donna D.
I have been working on Woodland Enchantress for a year.
I have ran out of floss in every color at least one if not more. I wrote
and received quickly, replacement floss but the chart is ripping and it was
replaced once in the beginning since I like a working chart. So I found
another kit cheap...

Hello to Joyce in RSA :-) by
Tia Mary
Hi Joyce,
It's been a LOOONG time since we "spoke". I spoke of you recently
on the cruise I took the first of this month. One of the young men
taking photos was from Johannesburg and seeing his name tag made me
think of you. I told him I had an internet friend who lived in RSA and
he...

i am just enjoying my embroidery , this time of year i usually go

to see that no `bad visitors` came to stay. and of course some
embroidery `experiments`, float into

where to buy cardstock for needlework? by
Martha Sykora
Does anyone know where I can purchase tri-fold cardstock with a small
cut-out to mount embroidery in the card? I have not been able to locate
any locally anymore. The one place I found online (Embroideryetcetera.com)
shows exactly what I want on their website but perhaps is no longer in...

Score!! by
Olwyn.Mary
Our church had a rummage sale Friday afternoon and yesterday. I didn't
get to look at much stuff, as dh and I were in charge of sorting the
books, and we had a HUGE amount. (105 cases altogether, when sorted).
However, just before we opened I was walking past the "boutique" table,
and saw a...

My day.......... by
Parrotfish
Oh dear......... looking forward to buying buttons for a baby jacket,
and discovered the shop is closed !
The worst thing was, the wool and needles were still visible through
the window..... so near, yet so far.
So many shops are closing down in the shopping centre :o(
So I decided to treat myself...

Weird needles by
Olwyn.Mary
Along with the lap frame I bought at the rummage sale, there was a paper
of needles of a type I have not seen before. They are very heavy, 3.5
inches long and about the weight of a size 18 tapestry needle, with
sharp points and with an eye which looks like a narrowed (or squished)
letter...

So, what's everyone working on? by
NDJoan
I'm still on my nativity set. I just finished the last shepherd and
have started on one of the wisemen. Three wisemen and 2 camels to
go!
I'd really like to get the pieces I have stuffed and finished so I can
display them this Christmas.
