knitting block by
Spike Driver
I can not get into my knitting or crochet, I don't even want to pick it
up or look at it.
It is summer time and fishing time, maybe a little gardening.
Any one else?
Hugs & God bless,
Dennis & Gail

knitting assistance--new here by
Karlisa
Hi,
My name is Lisa and I've been lurking and reading here for quite some time.
I'm hoping that you all will be able to help me or perhaps direct me to
where I might find help in a book, etc. for a knitting problem. I made a
hat on double pointed needles and it wasn't until after I had nearly...

RakeStraw Spinners ! by
YarnWright
NAYY, just thought this was GREAT!
Some can't afford wheels, and some just can't handle a drop-spindle...
and I don't mean coordination wise either, some just can't lift their
arms to 'drop'...
so check THESE out! They'll go on the market June...

OT - Aluminum by
Shillelagh
Hee hee
Here's some fun, considering how we've been discussing that WORD...... I
just happened to glance at my box of "tin foil", and here's what it said
In English - Aluminum (no second 'i')
In French - cuz every package is in both English and French in Canada -
"papier d'aluminium"
How's...

Magic Loop or 2 needles by
YarnWright
Spike Driver spun a FINE 'yarn':
I was just interested.
Do you use the 4 or 5 needles, 2 circulars, or the magic loop?
I use the 2 circulars or the magic loop more than I do the 4 or 5
needles. I prefer the Magic Loop.
I use the 2 Boye needle sets I have until I have need for a...

felting to fulling, textile lesson...:=)) by
Els van Dam
Hello everyone, I have been told and corrected, by several people on my
use of the term felted knitting. the term should be fulled knitting or
weaving..
So there you go another lesson in correct terminology. When you have used
a textile technique to create an item as in knitting, weaving...

Casting on question by
Katherine
Angela Faye Oon wrote:
Hello rcty-ers,
I'm a relative newbie to knitting (have been crocheting for a while)
and I've got this cast-on question which may sound a little dumb.
I've discovered that I tend to cast-on too tight, so from a tip I
read from a website I'm using a needle that's...

Freecycling by
SthrnTami
Hi Slinky,
I think you misunderstand the purpose of Freecycling. It's not a
charity. The goal of Freecycling is to keep usable items out of the
landfill, while reducing consumerism at the same time. Folks post
items they no longer want, and others respond who can use them.
Everything is free,...

A Christmas Rant by
Allaya Diep
hmmm...are our in-laws related? :) I agree that you should keep the
shawl. But perhaps you can take a picture of the shawl and socks and send
it to your MIL and FIL with a note saying that they were originally intended
for them for Christmas, but since plans changed, the will be...

Sad news by
Katherine Burgess
For those of you who prayed with me over the past few years, I have to let
you know that my mother died early this morning. She was in no discomfort,
and, in fact, asked my sisters to let her go. She died peacefully, and will
be cremated. My brother will keep the ashes until we can scatter them...

Hope everyone is having a good day so far. I have been up since the

coming at 1:00 so I had to start early.
Absolutely no crochet or stitching has been done at all this week :( I
have just been to busy with the birthday and...

Knitting Oops ? by
DA
What is the biggest knitting oops that you have made? For me it was a Fair
Isle vest, and I didn't see the "mistake" until it was done. I designed
the vest, charted out all the patterns, and knitted it. The first time the
DH wore it, I noticed that there was a completely different pattern on...

6x6 square exch,,,longish. by
Cher
Hi all,
Right lets get a few things straight. First of all I started the six by
six square exchange back at the end of August. It was done as there was a
particular slump in the mails at the time, regarding knitting and
communicating with each other, especially where we could have been...

Extra 6x6 by

Well some of you have expressed a wish to do more than two squares a month.
I have no control over what you do personally.
However, please bear it in mind that some of our members of this group,
lead extremely busy lives and cannot for one reason or another get theirs
done this fast.
Also if you...
