Att'n: RIA - mssg for Mirjam by
Noreen's Knit*che
Hi Ria!
Could you please let Mirjam know that my Mother just called to tell me that
she just received the package Mirjam sent her?
She absolutely LOVES the cross, and the needlepoint will have to wait, as
the feeling in her hand won't allow her to 'do' it.... perhaps this is a
job for her DD#1...

a sock question - kitchener stitch? by
Elizabeth
I'm almost finished making my first ever sock. The instructions tell me to
decrease till there are 14 stitches left, divide them equally between two
needles (so far, so good) and then weave them together using kitchener
stitch.
I can't find any information on what this means so I'm just going to...

I know...I am stupidest in the world by
Mlle Ilvesvuori
I know this is RCTN thing but...can not help myself. Must tell you too. You
know, I have learnt something from you. The terms we use about yarn are not
the same. You determine the yarn like this: "fingering weight, baby weight,
worsted weight..." etc. We determine it like...The ball has a paper...

Eros 1 Ball Scarf Pattern from Plymouth Yarn Website by
Gina Beirne
Coming out of lurkdom to ask...
Has anyone made an Eros scarf from this pattern?
It's at http://www.plymouthyarn.com/home/freepatterns.html
The pattern says I need to double the Eros. What is the best way to do this?
Is there a better pattern to use? (I've already cut the strands for the
fringe...

Reverse single crochet rows within a piece by
Adam
I am making a scarf and the pattern calls for a row of reverse single
crochet in the front loops of a foundation row of single crochet, then
going back, a row of single crochet in the back loops. I have looked
all over and can only find information about reverse single crochet as
an edging, so what...

I'm so confused - please help! by
Michele
I'm working on a pattern that says to knit one, then knit one in the row
below. In the row below? I just don't get it. I've tried 3 times, and ended
up ripping it all out. It looks like a mess! I went to two sites to get
directions, but I still don't...

Ever hear of a Defendi Brother Arianna Knitting Machine? by
charlene
My boyfriend found this knitting machine at a yard sale, and I'm dying to
use it. I can't find any info on it, but it looks like the Brother
machines made in the late 1970's. It came with punch cards, but of course
no manual.
I used a Bond machine about 15 years ago and the movement on this is...

I want to knit socks... by

I want to learn to knit socks and I have tons of resources at my disposal as
far as patterns, etc. But, what I really would like input on is; what is
the best wool to use for socks? I know there are going to be differing
opinions on here, but I know this is the place to ask. I'm not looking...

100% Cotton by

Hi everyone;
For the most part my knitting has always been for the winter, but I was
thinking about making some summer tops. (Interesting that I would be thinking
of summer tops today, considering it's snowing like crazy outside.) I have a
couple of bags of 100% cotton. Some of it's Sugar 'n...

knitting - changing colors at beginning of row by
Lisa C
Searched for a newsgroup for hand knitting and did not see one. So I gave it
a shot and read a few posts in this 'yarn' one. Seems like you would be the
folks to ask.
I picked up my knitting needles after MANY years (hmmm, when my oldest was
2.... ooops.. way too many).
I am making a scarf....

Great last minute gift project and puffing out my chest by
Laurie
OK, I have a teeny brag. It isn't that big a deal except that I'm a
new knitter and it pleased me to no end. I did some really cute
purses and felted them and when I took them into my LYS to show the
owner (who is the neatest person!) everyone just raved at how cute
they were and couldn't get...
