Washing flannel...? by
Jo Pender
Ok, should have thought about this before buying, but....
how likely is good quality (mostly Moda) flannel to run? If I wash it
in advance (the colours are light vs dark), will it shrink thus leaving
me with less fabric than I need to complete the quilt? It needs to be
washable as it's going to...

Dyeing fabric for quilting - novice question by
Jo Pender
I think novice may be overstating my experience of this...ummm beginner
then.
My question is about the base fabric used. I assume 100% cotton is a
must, makes sense for a variety of reasons, but what weight/quality
should I use, where do I get it from and how much should I expect to pay
for it in...

Purple and green pillowcases/quilt bags. by
Betsy Ross
To make a long story short, I have three
purple and green quilt bags the size of
a standard pillow case. I made them to
hold three Quilts of Valor, but the
longarmer finished the quilts and sent
them of to Walter Reed Hospital without
telling me. I don't think they are
likely to match any future...

Piping on rouching by
Cheryl in Oz
Someone posted something to me about a pic on Webshots of piping on
rouching. I sorry I can't find the post now and I am about to get "cut
off".
There are a couple of methods for this in "A Fine Finish" by Mazuran.
I cheated and machined the piping in place then hand stitched the rouching
(just...

Thread count?? by
Marlys in Indiana
Does anyone know what a good quality fabric has for thread
count per square inch? I read an ad for "beefy 60 thread
count". Is that really good or not??
Never ever looked into this before. So I'm puzzled. :-~

Me and Debbie finally finished her sons penguin quilt between us on
Christmas Eve - and he loves it!

Shop Hop for January? by
Tigg
Is anyone participating in this round of the FabShop Hop? If so, I
could use a little help in finding a bunny. I'm up to the Q's and
can't seem to find the bunny on the www.quiltworld.com page. Has
anyone found it, and if they have would you be willing to give me a
hint?
Thanks!

AKK! Sort of OT... by
Kate Dicey
I just registered to do income tax self-assessment on-line, coz all the
ads tell you it's really quick... What they DON'T tell you is that you
need to allow 4-7 days for the security checks to go through, so it
takes 4-7 days to get the much needed activation pin... GRR! So I go
all through the...

Road to Calif. by

I went to this show in Ontario, CA on Thurs. for the first time. It
was very busy - I can't imagine what the weekend days will be like!
There were fewer quilts than I expected but they were WONDERFUL. I
took about a dozen pics but haven't yet developed them. There were
more vendors than anywhere...

I've decided I need to make a New York Beauty quilt someday, paper
pieced. Where should I start? Which books should I buy? Karen
Stone's book seems to be out of stock on amazon (where I have a gift
certificate). Valori Wells' Radiant NY Beauties is there though. Does
anyone know if either of...
