OT G'pa update *smile* by
Tricia
Got surprising news that Grandpa was sent home from the hospital today.
We had all thought he was going into rehab again first becuase he
didn't feel he could handle the few steps to get in the house but
apparently not.
=)
Thanks again folks,
Tricia

Need your input (it's me, Kate in MI) by
[email protected]
I am coordinating our guild's BOM sampler this year. We started back
in September and I have the blocks planned for the remainder of the
year. Using EQ5 -- I have decided generally how I plan to finish my
quilt -- and I think it will turn out pretty well. But some of the
blocks are "darker" than...

weird use for a seam ripper by
Jack Campin - bogus address
Our Persian tomcat Splodge occasionally gets fleas, which set
off severe attacks of fur matting. Trying to break the mats
up with a comb causes him a lot of pain and pulls far too much
fur out.
I just got a couple of new seam rippers. Looked at Splodge.
Lightbulb goes off in my head. Try to cut...

Squished! by
debi
I'm so sorry I haven't thanked the two of you yet, but I've been having
serious computer problems and have bee away from my own computer and the
Directory so this ends up being how I must thank you. Bright, cheerful
colors and, oddly enough, the two pieces of fabric coordinate well! Did you
two...

Everyone I know it is late at night. But, wake up and listen please. It
seems like I get on here when I can't sleep and everyone else is fast
asleep. I got my new April 2006 American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine the
other day and there is a pillow in it on page 48 I would like to make for...

Kimono Scraps by
[email protected]
I know this request has probably been done to death before. But I am
looking for a source for silk kimono scraps. I want to do a large
quilt to hang on a wall. I know that years ago you could buy bales of
kimono silk, but stupidly passed on that opportunity.
I am also doing fashion doll...

Just checking in by

Boy, it's been months since I have had a chance to look in on all of you.
We've been up to our eyeballs with house building and I haven't touched my
sewing machine since I did Carol Doak's class last fall and put the center
of the quilt together.
But the log house is almost done--just lots of...

It gets worse, chinese import quilts by
Taria
I was just nosing around on Ebay and see that a new thing (to me anyway)
are quilt tops pieced in the orient making their way here as tops to
finish. Quite a few from China to be seen . These seem to be classic
old timey styles that are hand pieced. I don't know particulars about
these things...

Well, if I wasn't, then when I just spilled that half-litre of water on my
desk/keyboard/mouse a sec ago, there wouldn't have been a bath towel lying
RIGHT THERE beside my chair, LOL.

Online shops -- which one would be best for.... by
[email protected]
finding fabrics by color... not by designer... or collection... or
manufacturer.
I need 24 - 30 FQ's in shades of white - gray - black (with one or two
gray/tans) for one of my new projects.
So where is a good shop where I can search by color. (I can do 1/2
yards if I need to -- or maybe even...
