Cotton and Glass by
Arondelle
Ah! Autumn in New England. It's a race to get there before all the
leaf-peepers descend on the state. (If it's tourist season, why can't I
shoot them?)
Yesterday, a friend of mine and I took a ride up to Lake Winnipesaukee
to shop at Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor. I had no money to...

AD - Monday = Beadday! by
Kalera Stratton
Happy colors, happy beads, happy thoughts!
Let's hope this message is going out to happy people tonight. :)
I've clearly been exploring my "happy place", because the colors I
worked with all last week just make me smile... crisp, tangy green;
sweet, singing pink; honey-golden amber; clean,...

OT Happy Day!! What Jewelry Did you Wear Today? by
Lilyflower
Hi,
Good vibes for a happy day, no matter how or what you celebrate. If
you live in the snowy northeast, warmer weather is enough. Of course I
know many of you are also marking the Easter Holiday.
So I'd like to know. Did you wear jewelry today? What jewelry did you
wear?
I'll answer...

AD: New Vessel - Tink by
Tinkster
At this point, it's not really an ad. But this will be going up for
sale, possibly on eBay, at some point. I've been accumulating the
stuff to do electroforming ever since I first torched. I finally got
fed up with my procrastination and decided to JUST DO IT.
And, of course, I'm one of those...

LOL!...Queen Conch Shells that is....
I had a lot going on the past few days, not to mention loosing two days last
week to thunderstorms. (But it sure does make for nice snoozing weather....)
Anyway, I only have one set up tonight. A 10 piece set of Queen Conchs. Very
nice ivory with custom mixed...

Current trolls infesting this forum are listed below. Block them or refrain
from responding unless you're having fun with it. :) Better yet, report
them. My guess is they are all the same person, or they are a group working
together. If you see more, feel free to add to the list. :)

Where is the talent in your gene pool? by
starlia
I was just sitting here at my lampworking table thinking about my mom. She
didn't raise me but we knew each other pretty well. She was always
astounded where I got my talent for drawing (chuckle), painting, etc. I had
to think about it myself. She said my dad never did anything artistic but...

OT- Cat Scan news (not good) by
Cheri2Star
The cat scan shows that the cancer is still growing. That means that the
second diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer is probably incorrect. So I didn't have
chemo today and had to spend the whole day with Mom with nothing to do. Sigh.
The good news is that if I don't have Ovarian Cancer, I won't have to...

UPS Man just came:) I now have a fiber blanket, a gorgeous sampling of
neutral toned vetrofond glass, and TWO HUGE jars of frit! Thank you Kalera.
All we need now is a table/desk, a chair, a surface covering (cement board,
perhaps?) and gas! It may be a while before we begin, but we are so on...

Jewelers and the Patriot Act by
VManes
Fahcryinoutloud!!!!!! When will the madness stop???
Actually, it's real easy to comply. Put a coffee can, small basket,
whatever, by the door to your laundry room. Always empty your pockets
before entering the room to do the wash.
I'm still trying to figure out what goes in the "Patriot Act...

eBay gets hype in the UK (semi-OT) by
Su/Cutworks
It's actually pretty amusing, it's been the news story everywhere, that eBay
showed a huge profit. Most of the news people were so unconversant with
eBay and the various national offshoots including eBay.co.uk that they were
really hilarious about how this brand new idea has really taken the world...

I can't tell you guys how good it feels to be working again...
Granted, I'm slower than molasses in January, as my dad used to say,
but sometimes slowing down is good for me, both for my health and for
my creativity.
I'm really pleased with what's been coming out of my studio this week!
Here's one...

How do you cull your beads? by
FurPaw
I'm pretty new to beading, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Most of my
work so far has been using peyote stitch, with geometric designs. The
variability in bead sizes within a tube or hank throws the designs off,
even when I use Delicas, unless I cull out the oddly sized and shaped beads.
So how...
