Wax resist by
Wendy Cyrenne
I just splashed wax resist on places of a pot where I didn't want it. Is
there a way to get it off?
Thanks.

watering dry clay by
Wes
Pardon my ignorance but I bought some fire clay and it is in dry powdered
form. Do I just add water and start stirring? Any idea of weight of water
to weight of clay? My application is to seal a metal box that will be used
for case hardening in order to keep air out.
Thanks in advance,
Wes

Spode? by
Willi
http://members.aon.at/supervague/iview.html?d=images/18centpitcherhandle.jpg
I've found this while working in my house .
Could this be an early mark of Spode?
The sherd is the upper part of the handle of an earthen pitcher. The
unit of the underlying grid is exactly 2 centimeters.

Pottery classes? by
windriverfamily
Hello, folks!
I'm a new lurker to this newsgroup. I'm hoping you can help me connect with
a pottery community in Portland, Oregon. My mother was a potter, and I
grew up scouring the hills (so to speak) for native clays. Sometimes we'd
build raku kilns on the beach and fire what we made there! ...

ITC-213 cement - need an ounce or less by
WKW
I have a couple of nice soldering stations with burned out elements that I
need to rewind. I found the nichrome wire I need cheap on eBay, but now I
need something to insulate it from the metal. After doing some research, I
came across ITC-213 refractory cement which seems to be ideal, but only...

horse hair pottery? by

Can anyone suggest a method for using burnt horse hair to
decorate pottery? I've seen some people in the western US
do it but I lost any info I had on their methods.

burnishing? by
Wumpus
Can anyone tell me how burnishing is done?
I've done it while trimming using a hard flat stainless steel surface,
pressed against the clay as it rotates. But this is only partly
successful.
I have heard that people use river rocks but I have had no success
in my limited experiments with those....
