Why not? How many of you would set aside a long weekend to come to the quaint Amish town of Shipshewana Indiana. With a couple of wonderful quilt shops (Lolly's is my favorite!)... antique shops... and GREAT FOOD (not to mention the picturesque rural Indiana landscape). For our guild... ...

OT (sort of) Flickr by Charlotte
I've noticed that more and more people are using Flickr for their pictures. Is it free (or has a free version) like webshots does? How easy is it to upload pictures and change your photos? What do you like/dislike? Anything else you care to share with someone thinking of setting up an...

OT Why NOT to have a doggy door in your home! by Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I sit here shaking, hoping my almost ex calls back soon. You see, I was sitting here in the 'other' spare bedroom where the computer lives, turned around and there's a RABBIT laying on the floor! One of the dogs brought it in thru the doggie door and left it for me. So, thinking it was nearly...

Ok, can someone clarify VIC vs Victoria, NSW vs New South Wales; QLD vs Queensland. Is it ok to use initials for all of these locations or should they be spelled out? -- AliceW - Royal Cybrarian www.ourcyberfamily.us Hug them while they're here!

Ot, how many dogs does it take to change a light bulb by Musicmaker
GOLDEN RETRIEVER: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb? BORDER COLLIE: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code. DACHSHUND: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

An interesting info site by jennellh
http://www.paulsadowski.com/birthday.asp I haven't labelled it "off topic" because I think that everyone should check out their birth day info - perhaps there is a common bond between quilters of the world other than fabric, thread and creativity. Who knows! Enjoy learning more about the day...

My new toy by John
Alright, Polly and Sandy. You can stop using your intellectual cattle prods on me. I have finally crossed over into the realm of the serious quilter. I just got back from my Bernina Dealer with a lovely little box 8" x 6" x2" in size. You already know it is too small to house a new sewing machine,...

New sewing table by [email protected]
I finally broke down and bought myself one of those folding tables that have a "hole" for your machine to fit into. I had been delaying because I was afraid it would be too flimsy, but this last round of trying to machine quilt with the machine on a flat table, with the quilt pulling away from the...

I want to give a small homemade quilting kit to a relative. She in Denmark, and doesn't understand much English. If I bought a pattern (like one of those single patterns in a bag), translated the writing, and gave her both the pattern and the translation, am I in general breaking copyright...

Fons & Porters Quilting Club? by SewVeryCreative
Does anyone here belong to this club? If so, do you like it? Do you feel it was worth it? I just joined, after seeing all those ads for it in my magazines and the hype on the F&P site ... and I just toured the area and I just don't feel like it was really worth the money. Right now, I'm just...

OT -- Good thoughts needed by Pati C.
Just got a call from my sister in Tucson. Mother is back in the ER, this time it looks like she may have to go to a nursing home or assisted living facility of some sort. When I talked with her the other day she seemed a little more out of it than usual, but I thought she might just be tired or...
