Budapest Glassblowing by -
Does anyone know of any glassblowers in Budapest? I recall hearing a while back that quite a bit of the commercial pieces around Europe are made there, but don't know any names. I'm planning a trip there in a few weeks and would love to see some of their hotshops. Thanks in advance.

Large Sized Red Glass by Elizabeth in UK
If you dont mind the striations ('scribbles' texture - copied by Spectrum for their 'Artique' texture) ask for Drawn Antique (it may be called GNA or MNA) which over here in UK comes in sheets made by St Just : 1200mm x 800mm (about 47" x 31.5") or Desag/Schott : 800/1000mm x 750mm(31.5"/39" x...

Taurus Ring Saw....good? by Kathi Gose
I have a Taurus saw. I like it. I like the advantage of being able to cut in any direction. The blades aren't cheap though, usually in the $80 range. I search on stained glass supply sites and order from the cheapest one. They are "supposed" to last 100 cut hours. I think the longest mine have...

polishing scratches from art glass??? by Moonraker
If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, it's likely not going to be able to be polished out, especially if it is already in a panel. If you still have the loose piece, you might could take it through the steps of beveling, i.e.; roughing, smoothing, pre-polish and final polish. ...

Large Sized Stained Glass by Greg DeBacker
I have a large stained glass window in my home. The center piece of glass is a circle cut from a 30X30 inch piece of red glass. It is broken and needs to be replaced. I've gone to several web sites related to stained glass but it seems the largest width of glass available is 24 inches. I can get it...

Etching number onto vehicle glass by Michele Blank
you can get an engraving tool at most hardware stores for about 12$ or less. That's all they are meant to do (as opposed to a dremel) It might be helpful to stop by a frame shop and ask for some scrap glass to experiment on. m "Ralf G. Toennies" wrote in...

Changing Kitchen Cabinet Glass by Sheellah
The problem with trying to do this, is that the glass is inserted into a channel before the door is assembled, and then it's probably glued. It's a shaker door style. They also have one where the glass in inside a mitered frame. The doors are from IKEA, and they are that awful screened glass with...
