Need Advice for a Lap quilt. by
nana2b
Thank you for your suggestions. I just returned from TSWLTH (Joann's) I
bought a lovely fleece that looks like animal fur in beiges and browns. I
have several Giraffe embroidery designs to put on it. She is a dear person
and I just want her to have some extra (((hugs))).

OT Four Seasons Singles Group 'N Me- very long but funny by
The HairyFacedOnes 'N Me
Yes. I went to The Four Seasons Singles Group again last night. It was a
much smaller turn-out without the raucous atmosphere of the band and the
rip-roaring appeal of twirling around the dance floor to the gravitating
sounds of the hillbilly hymns. The cast was set when I came thru the
door- they...

I'm back, posting from work where I shouldn't be for about another 10
days, but when the fall semester starts on Monday and you're the one
who has to get ready for it...
Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers while I was out. Oh, the

OT - Accomodation in Glasgow by
Johanna Gibson
Thanks to those of you who helped me! Turns out I'm going to be
lodging with the sister of one of my managers at work. Pauline had
mentioned before that she had a sister in Glasgow, looking for a
lodger, but at the time I thought it was too far from the city centre
and I was investigating another...

Printing on cotton by
Janner
I'm sure that I asked this 'ages' ago, but I can't remember what the outcome
was. I want to print a picture off my PC on to plain cotton sheeting to
quilt. Is there a product that I can get to do this, or do I need a special
lotion or printer cartridge or fabric.......
Our quilting group is...

Chenille by
DL Poke First National Real Estate
Hello Dianne and all other chenille fans,
Yes, you finish off the project completely, then place into the washing
machine with a pair of jeans, wash on normal wash, the jeans give the piece
of chenille a 'real work out'. Roughs it up really nicely. Place in your
clothesdryer to dry.
Lots of...

More on Chenille by
Lynne in Toronto
Those of you who have made chenille jackets...how many layers did you
use? I saw one in the quilt store this past week with only two
layers..one flannel and one regular cotton... plus the backing/lining.
it didn't look too thick.(read fattening)
Any suggestions??
Cheers,

Underground Railroad Quilts was Help with quilt block name origins by
Nbhilyard
Lia, Yes!! Do get it on Snopes.
Your assessment is mild compared to what Merry Stahel wrote when Tobin's book
first came out.
A woman in Racine, WI, was so taken with Tobin's thesis and the book that she
created a whole quilt project using the patterns Tobin references. I saw the
exhibit (at...

Attn Kevin! Attention Ramada Gals! (Happy Dance) by
QuiltR1024
Hi,
I did buy a yard of that wonderful fabric with the black background and the
margaritas, southwest foos , etc... on it. This will go into my Ramada
/Houston 2002 quilt. I bought it at the quilt show last year. I think Pat &
Kathy Z. bought some of it too.

Quilt Central by
The Nielands
The monthly magazine sent out by our PBS station arrived today, and it lists
"Quilt Central" on Saturday afternoons at 3:30 (where Fons and Porter's Love
of Quilting has been airing). Has anybody seen Quilt Central yet in their
area? What's is like? I suppose I could look it up on the PBS site, but...

Pot Holders & Hot Pads by
Glenn/Patty
I've never tried it with hot pads or pot holders but when I make rice bags I
put cinnamon, nutmeg, and some cloves in with the rice. When you heat it up
it kinda smells like an apple pie. : )
