cleaning closets by

I've got about six year's worth of "Cross Stitch" (published by the Counted
Thread Society of America) to find a home for. There are 24 in all, from 1977-8
and 1982-5. Anyone willing to pay postage (from New York) to get them? I rarely
check the newsgroup, so please e-mail me off-list. They are b&w...

GROUP use of Amazing Box to convert FREE design downloads??? by
Linda
It is really frustrating to have a Janome 9000 -- able to use MOST
of the bells and whistles that the other 'big' embroidery machines
have --
but the .sew format and wierd-sized disk they use (not a small floppy
and
not a CD), makes life really difficult! There are all these designs
on the
Net...

Got my Festival registration letter! by
d frost
Oh Boy! Now I really am going to Dallas! I got my registration letter back
today so it's official. I really wasn't expecting it so soon--the
instructions said to allow up to 6 weeks. I got all but one first
choice--but got my alternate on that one. I'm in most of MBL's classes. I
signed up...

Lighting. by
F.James Cripwell
I posted about this some time ago. I have an overhead light where I
stitch, which is limited because of heat to four 60 watt bulbs; i.e. a
total of 240 watts equivalent of light. They are now selling "energy
saving" bulbs (fluorescents), which produce 100 watts equivalent of light,
but only...

Incognito (terrific!) author was "A Crewel World" by Monica Ferris by
Patricia Warren
I agree with everyone that Monica's novels are wonderful and great fun
(and do accurately peg certain aspects of Minnesota culture ;-O). Did
you know that in addition to writing the Betsy Devonshire/Crewel World
novels, Monica Ferris is also Mary Monica Pulver, author of the Peter
Brichter police...

Found after all these years by
Donna D.
I lost my good pair of storks 6 1/2 YEARS AGO!!!!!.
Somehow today I found them. I am redecorating my bedroom and they were half
way under the carpet. I don't understand why I never found them before but I
gave up and decided I must have thrown them out.
Along with 2 pictures of my son building...

Anyone seen this chart? by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
Several months ago I saw a chart online and I've lost the link. It was a
sampler with the words "Create in me a clean heart" and a house, in
folk-art-influenced traditional style, (or would that be,
"tradition-influenced folk-art style", LOL?). Can't find it now, though.
Does it sound familiar to...

A Little S.E.X. by
Ellice
Well, I finally went to my friend's LNS - nice - it's the January inventory
sale. She's doing something different - rather than have a pile of
discounted books - there's a big jar, and you reach in, pull out a card, and
get your discount form 10% - 50% (thought I think most are about 20%)....

Words and Confusion by
Dianne Lewandowski
There has just been an exchange here at RCTN, and the subject got me
curious, so I got out my dictionary (two of them) and thesaurus as a
back up, and went digging. It was a learning experience for me, which,
after all, is what every conversation should be.
Here's the "words" - and you will see...
