I am curious about underglazing right now but know precious little about the how- to aspect. And Mason stains? What are they...

vender for a gas burner by Lathe Dog
Where can I buy an atmospherically-entrained gas burner with about 10,000 Btu/hr max output when using propane? If a burner puts out, say, 10,000 Btu/hr with natural gas, how much will it put out with propane, at the same supply pressure? Thanks in advance. Tom

Glaze Mixing Ques. by Doug Porter
Why does glaze have to sit for 24 hours after being mixed? My husband asked me this question and I didn't have an answer for him (besides "that's what I was told to do"). LMac

FAQ Raku part 2 of 2 by SBRANFPOTS
Raku FAQ Part 2 of 2 R.9. All I ever get are bright metallic effects. How do I get more colorful glaze effects? This is the exact opposite of the previous question and problem. Brighter colors need a degree of post firing oxidation in order to develop. There are several ways to achieve this. When...

LONG post on results of "Glazus Interuptus" by GaSeku
Grab a cup of tea or a glass of beer. This post may be LONG. I fired the load that I had to turn off after two hours the day before. After reading everyone's posts, I opted NOT to replace any of the cones since they only got to 500F. I won't fail to replace them next time, just in case not doing...

large tiles cracking by Monika Schleidt
I have this very smooth, slick clay, which feels very much like porcellain, but is tan colored and sinters at 1100C. It works very well on the wheel, to handbuild, but, if you make any large, flat pieces, like large tiles or so, it tends to crack right down the middle. I don't normally make large...
