There's no place like home by
shhdesigns
Hi All
Trying to catch up on all the posts while I've been away for the past ten
days. Congrats to all and many happy dances to those finished, or almost
finished projects.
Will give a more detailed account later, but decided to drive down the I-5
highway in Western US as there are so many forest...

for momII/Butterfly by
CNYstitcher
I'm not writing hillbilly because it wouldn't let me send the first
mesaage I typed.
I finished painting the bedroom, including the baseboard trim. Just
have to figure out what i am going to do where the walls meet the
ceiling - can't afford to buy moulding and haven't found anything that...

Jenny's quilt done! by
MerryStahel
You know the routine...LOL
Click on the Webshots URL below. Click on MORE QUILTS.
I was playing with color a few months ago, and made this little quilt just to
play with the blue G.
Jenny fell in love with it and asked if she could have it, for any future
grandkids she may give me G. I...

An old quilt and new insights... by
MerryStahel
So, as you all know, I've been trying to finish all these projects I've had for
years. Part of my problem is that I am a great starter, but a lousy finisher
G. The other problem is that a lot of this stuff was in storage. I'd start
something, only to have it put into storage with a move, then...

Never OT - Sending thoughts and prayers on 9/11 by
Sharon Harper
Now that we are all on 9/11 albeit at varying stages, I just wanted to send
my heartfelt love and prayers to all those affected in any way by 9/11. I
know how badly it affected me, and my fellow Aussies so for you guys who
were closer it could only have been worse. Take care you guys, know that...

Sports badge quilt? by
Ljohan514
A friend of mine's daughter plays soccer and has collected tons of what I can
"events badges". They are about 3-5 inches in diameter, made of some
hard-backed material and the edges are bound applique-style. (like oversized
merit badges from the Boy Scouts). She'd like me to put these together...

Another one DONE! by
MerryStahel
Okay, in between playing with the Lone Star last night, I ran across the color
wheel wedges given to me when I sat in on a lecture and class back in 1992 or
so.
I decided to put it together, since the Lone Star was not gonna be an instant
gratification project G. To my dismay, I discovered a...

Help ....Chaos Harmony by

Well I finally said goodbye to my daughter and granddaghter. I have
cleared up and organized the clutter that a new baby brings to the
house. This means I now have room to start quilting again!!
Hooray!(Don't get me wrong here, I loved the time I spent with my DGD

Courthouse Steps vs Log cabin by
frood
I know these blocks are assembled in a similar fashion, but I haven't done
courthouse steps yet. Does it involve more planning for light/dark/color
placement? With LC, I can do half dark/half light blocks, then play with the
arrangement. The only CS blocks I've seen are very structured, with...

request for re-post headwear by
Ann Adamson
Hi all,
A few weeks back I posted a request for patterns for making headcovers from
quilting fabric.
Someone posted a link to a great pattern for a "doo rag", which is pretty
much just what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, I've lost the link and can't seem to get back to that old
post, so I'm...

The first quilt? by
The Nielands
In an e-mail replying to Diana's thread about getting started in quilting,
Julie said she always had a quilt in her life thanks to her Grandmother.
That got me to thinking (a dangerous thing at this time of day when I'm
tired from work!). What's the first quilt you remember in your life?
Like...

Thanks by

I always want to thank so many people here who take the time
to post and share so much, but I get busy and forget. While
the thought is fresh in my mind, I just wanted to thank Mel and
Merry in particular. Mel's posts about her positive machine
quilting experince gave me the nudge to sit down and...

OT - Another Game Show Funny by
Nurse Ratched
Spew warning!!!
LN's post reminded me of something that was on TV the other night. We stumbled
on it while DH was handling the remote (read: constantly changing channels),
and I think it was some sort of "Game Shows' Funniest Moments" kind of thing.
Remember the old Newlywed Game?
Question (for...

Just wanted to let you know that The Stitching Post,
http://www.stitchingpostquilts.com/ is having a sale, and has many
fabrics down to $5 and $4 a yard - all good quality. I succumbed to
some red and green things, to make presents, then realized that others

Applique Flowers & Bible Blocks by
MerryStahel
Anyone know of a free site, without a lot of pop-ups and with easy to manuever
webpages where there are free applique flower patterns? Baskets and
butterflies with said patterns are fine.
Also, a site where Bible blocks patterns are? I know there's one site that has
Bible blocks but a lot of the...
