I'm new to knitting and new to this newsgroup :-).
I'm currently trying to do the following project:
http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/march_knitproj.html
However, I'm starting to wonder if I bit off more than I can chew, as I'm
doing cable for the first time. I'm also stumped at...

pattern seeking by
enigma
i'm looking for a knitting pattern for a nice shawl or lapghan
to make for my grandma's 101st birthday in May. i'm not a fast
knitter so something fast & easy would be best, i think, but
something with more pizazz than plain garter stitch.
it *has* to be knit, as my crochet talents extend only to...

Hello All,
I've just recently found this group, after spending much time searching for
knitting patterns for flowers - the 3-D sort that can be placed in a vase.
My daughter is already working on some Xmas presents, and is looking for
patterns.
Can anyone help? Please feel free to either post...

New member and question re knitted lace by
Catherine Milton
Hi,
My name is Catherine, I live in South Africa, and someone suggested I join
this newsgroup as I had a knitting question.
I am a fairly experienced knitter - my first completed project was an Aran
cardigan for my father! Using 4ply wool! He still has it, and that was 30
years ago. Before...

knitting block by
Spike Driver
I can not get into my knitting or crochet, I don't even want to pick it
up or look at it.
It is summer time and fishing time, maybe a little gardening.
Any one else?
Hugs & God bless,
Dennis & Gail

Sock heels by
Mary Fisher
The socks I knitted recently for No 9 grandchild were from a wartime pattern
and had an 'auto' heel.
The pattern book had several other sock patterns and I was interested to see
that some had 'French' and some 'Dutch' heels.
For interest I knitted one each of these heels, they were both...

Greetings to all :)
I just found a really cool screensaver at the lionbrand website

Go to that site and click on the goodies link in the top right corner for a
neat screensaver.

Crochet Pattern Help or Replacement? by
Allaya Diep
Stick with it...I agree with PP that you shouldn't give up...the pattern
looks like it's very doable for your skill level. One thing I learned early
on about patterns...crochet patterns in particular...is that it's really a
lot easier if you take everything very literally. Most of my mistakes...

Felting - Knit or Crochet? by
Sarah Carter
I was thinking about making a few felted bags.
I've knitted an oversized bag before and then put it in the washing machine
to shrink it, and wondered if a crocheted piece would work in a similar way?
I was thinking that a double crochet piece might end up being too "holey"
and need lining whereas...

White wool or white cotton? by
BB
I plan on making a baby blanket that I want to last for many years. I'd
like to have white be the main color, but I wonder if it would yellow.
Would wool or cotton be better for this? Or should I consider a
different color?

Cher by

Cher, I wasn't the one doing the searching - Eleanore was.
Once Eleanore made the accusation that Gem had gone to other groups looking
for money, I decided to look at the groups that Eleanore said that Gemini
was in asking for cash. I found NOTHING.
So lets get this straight -- I DID NOT MAKE THE...

Hi!
I found Kool Aid in Stockholm, or even better, Kool Aid found me!
I was walking along Odengatan when I saw a shop window with a lot of
colorful stuff. I looked better and yes, a American shop!
I entered and looked around, searching for Kool Aid (you got me really
curious!). I had no idea of...
