http://www.justbeads.com/listings/details/index.cfm?itemnum=796097366 Is this unique to the artist or is it a technique with a name and maybe some directions ;-)? I think it looks interesting. I like that organic kind of thing. Maybe a mix of mica shift and mokumegane(sp?)with stamps? Ingrid

Your three favorite polymer clay artists? by mermaidscove_com
Who are your three favorite polymer clay artists? It's ok to vote for yourself ;-). I took a long break from clay and I guess my favorites are maybe considered old hat but I doubt I'll ever replace them- Tory Hughes and Karen Lewis. There's a lot of contenders for third, this week it's Jill...

A question about liquid clays by mermaidscove_com
I've been doing TLS transfers, I was wondering if other brands- fimo and kato are also floppy in thin layers? That is, are either more rigid after baking? Ingrid

Image transfer by mermaidscove_com
Hi, I haven't worked with clay for a long time, I wanted to try a few things. I can't recall how to do image transfer. Can anybody provide some pointers? I think I remember it varies with the kind of ink or some work better than others... was there one that used alcohol? Help would be...

New here and new to clay by mermaidscove_com
Hi, Actually if you like colors and playing with clay is fun, you are artistic! :) You only need to sand, polish or seal if you want to. Sealing is considered a good idea if you use metallic powders or leafing foils but not needed with straight clay. If you sand and polish you get a smooth shiny...

2 questions by mermaidscove_com
You might want to try a "bead roller", they are plastic doohickeys you use to roll a bead shape, they come with holes that you use to guide a pin through, since it is still in the shaped bead trough it doesn't distort. They make a few different shape beads. I am using canes but only abstract...

burnt sculpey!!! by Metis Artist
I accidentally cooked my sculpey at 375 for 20 minutes instead of 275. It's turned almost black. Question is...I was planning on painting it anyway. Is it salvageable? should I bake it longer at a lower temp? Is it going to be more fragile now? Thanks Tania

biodegradable peanuts - uses? by MFrankenberg
oooh, oooh! I know this one! Toss some in water! If they dissolve, they're cornstarch. If kids see you doing this, plan on losing some of your supply, because it's fun. You can use these to make hollow beads or structures, & you can use them to prop things up during baking, & you can probably...

Hello, all. I'm new to the group and new to polymer clay. I got my first small packet of clay a couple of days ago and already I've gone back to the store four times for more. I'm loving it. A couple of questions for you seasoned experts though: I painted my first project with regular Liquitech...
