manual for Riccar 777? by
Sew Weird
I acquired one of these machines and fixed it (the bobbin winding gear
was, well, crumbs but otherwise the machine is in amazing condition)
and managed to thread it by trial and error. I really need a manual.
I've found a few for sale but alas, I am a broke, no make that uber
broke, art school...

Fabric Paint for PVC Skirt? by
veripwolf
Hi there, does anyone have experience painting on PVC or leather? I'm
looking for a good quality fabric paint that obviously doesn't require
ironing after drying. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Trouser Side Pockets by
Jack Schmidling
I have made about ten pairs of trousers and shorts and have yet to get
the side pockets right.
The bottom joint where everything comes together never does and I have
to mush over it with a fine zig zag.
It looks so simple when studying a commercial pair but putting it into
practice is a different...

Hi...actually looking for a millinery forum by
featherman
But all searches come back to here. Any help? I have a website devoted
to decorative feathers that would be a good source for any milliners
and would like to make it available as a potential resource.

Window treatment and chair fabric staining by
Myrna
I hope I'm in the right group for my question. I figure sewers know a
lot about fabric. So, I'm wondering why I see staining on my
swags/jabots (off white) and on my white chair. This is a living room
so there is no food. The stain is orange and looks like rust. Would a
fabric rust? The stains are...

beginning serger: brother vs. singer vs. white by
Aay P.-M.
Hello everyone...
I'm going to buy my first serger and have a pretty tight budget so I
narrowed my choices down to a factory-refurbished Brother 1034D and
Singer 14SH654. I've found both for about $200 including shipping. A
lot of online reviews & consumer reports seem to say that specific
Brother...

Procedure to thread Singer 9020 machine by
Sew Busy Auntie
Hello, everyone.
This is my first message. My sister has a Singer 9020 machine. I
can't figure out how to thread it correctly - the upper thread is OK,
but how the bobbin works I can't tell. I keep trying, but I can't get
the thread to slide in anywhere (dumb description - sorry!) so that...

Manual needed: Necchi 534FB/White M603 by
[email protected]
Would anyone have a copy of the manual or be willing to make one for me
for a Necchi 534FB and also for a White M603 sewing machine? My wife
picked one up for herself and for my mom at a garage sale and neither
had the books with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Measurements & Cotton vs Silk thread by
BookWight
Hi -
When I get around to sewing, is there any reason to use silk rather than
cotton thread? Is there any reason to sew cotton fabric with cotton and
silk fabric with silk, or should I just use cotton thread for everything?
BTW, I got ahold of a measuring tape, and the results seem to be:
chest...

fake fur stuck in the up down mechanism by
[email protected]
You have all been so helpful about the weak machine I wonder if you can
help me with trying to fix my singer.
I had 3 party bags to go (fake fur, monster bags) and for some stupid
reason I flipped the fur on the left hand side of the foot up and it
got caught in the rod that goes up and down and...

Hello All,
It's been 2 months of reading your wonderful and knowledgeable posts to get
up the nerve to actually sew something...anything. I just had to finally
dust off and use the Pfaff 1122 sewing machine that my mom gave me for
Christmas.
And now I have - 2 projects under my belt. First, a...

Bubble skirts? by
Arri London
Picked up last month's issue of a sewing mag published by the fabric
shop/chain. Talking about prom dresses. They mentioned bubble skirts as
being fashionable again. While they were around for a while in the early
90s in London, the fad didn't last long. No one ever looked good in
them.
So... are...

Hello everyone,
I am sewing a scrub pants for my sister and it calls for an elastic waist.
She told me her waist is 26 inches. How much or how long elastic I will cut?
Thanks for the input,
Mira
