OT oops by
Anne Rogers
I seem to launch from disaster to disaster, last night my son, who's
nearly 5, ran to give me a hug, but missed and strangled me, this sent
my neck into spasm fairly speedily and it's evident today that it's
hurt the ribs and my right hip too. The neck spasm was so bad we
decided to go to the ER,...

Update on DF by
Jill -Critter Comforts
Well, he's been moved to a regular room, but now they are looking into
his Gall Bludder. He's never had a problem with it but tests are showing
some stones. They don't know what to do because he certainly can't have
surgery.
Thanks for all your prayers.

Hakama and quilt binding by
Brian Christiansen
I just made myself a hakama (a pleated, divided skirt:
http://web.mit.edu/jpnet/kimono/man-hakama.html) for my kendo class. I
might post a picture of myself in it someday.
Well anyway, it is kind of offwhite with black stripes at the hems, the
inseams, and the outseams. I made the black...

I Did it!!!! by
Sunny[_2_]
I got there at 9:30 this morning. It's 7:16 p.m. now and I've been
home two hours and a glass of wine. Arms like jelly. Legs exhausted.
Missed my nap. Tired as can be. But it's done. Not a masterpiece, but
no bloops that I expected. No pockets or bulges. I decided to have
fun. Put hearts all over...

Morning ladies (and gents)
I have just come back froma weekend in Seville. As usual it was
gorgeous. We had a great time. During the 6 hour drive back, I
"suddenly" realized that I have my DD3 birthday party this coming
Friday, and there will be a gazillion kiddies running around my house.

What to do? by
Dannielle
I have two of three decisions made, and just can't manage the third
decision! So I have come to all of you....
Decision #1 - I have 24 beautiful fat quarters sitting on my floor
that play well together and are begging to become something even more
beautiful. I might add a cream tone on tone as a...

sewing machines which one? by
Janner
DH has said that I can upgrade my old Janome machine. I would like to
use it for piecing, quilting, dressmaking and general purpose. He said
to find one that I like! Bearing in mind, that we are saving up to buy
some land, so we can build, I can't blow it all on a machine.
My machine that I...

Bernina - is it just me? by
TinaR
My first "good" machine was a Bernina 1090 which I bought used from a
dealer. I loved it to death, it replaced a 1970's Singer which was
really awful. I loved the Bernina because nothing ever, ever went
wrong.
When I found myself with a little extra cash a few years later, I
bought a brand new...

frame fabric by
Lobo
Has anyone ever "framed" an art quilt with a fabric frame? I'm wanting to
do something like that and wondering if anyone can point out to me a fabric
that would imitate an old-fashioned gilt frame or even wood. Thanks.

Anybody familiar with this tool? by
NightMist
http://www.awlforall.com/default.htm
I use this thing when I need to use heavier thread than one of the
sewing machines will take, or have something where heavily waxed
thread is the order of the day and I still need a lockstitch.
I am just looking for an easier way to wind new thread on the...

Stack & Whack / Kaleidescope Quilts by
Kate G.[_2_]
To make a crib sized quilt --- how many yards (approximately) of fabric (or
repeats) would you need? I know you need to count repeats -- and that the
distance
can vary from fabric to fabric. But to do a 6 or 8 pointed star.... can you
give me a rough estimate?
I have a few things in the stash...

Design help please by
John
I have a problem that has cropped up on the quilt I am working on. My
wife, when she sees it, thinks that the pattern of the hollow blocks
flow from top left to bottom right. creating the cascading effect. I
am not so sure and think the pattern flows from top right to bottom
left. Now in most...

The guilt is a Garden Twist pattern -- and will be raffled at their summer

I've never done a lable for something like this.

Quilting on the Long Arm by
Sunny[_2_]
I'm posting this very very early Wednesday morning or maybe it's late
Tuesday night. I finished my first queen sized quilt. I hope it's my
last. And it's for my bed. Anyway, it's not great ..... sort of got a
wonky place here or there. I was really careful with borders and
measuring through the...
