best inexpensive scissors by Cynthia Mason
I need your input on good scissors for cutting fabric that are very inexpensive. I need to buy many for a project and want to buy the best for the least amount of money. Any advice or info will be appreciated.

A friend's quilts by Julia in MN
Please don't take this as advertising. A very nice woman I know does beautiful work. I just found out she has a web site to sell some of her work. I am posting this only so you can see some of the lovely quilts she makes. All of her quilts are done by hand. She told me once that she has back...

OT - Solstice by Johanna Gibson
Well it didn't get dark up here until 11:30pm, closer to midnight... and was light again at just before 3 am, complete with chirping birds and the works. Makes life hard for a night-owl, and rather embarrassing to be going to bed when it's getting light outside. Plus it confuses the cat. -- Jo...

Nice table for quilting by Taria
I was at Costco today and saw they have a neat new banquet type table. the 30"x 6' type. They are nice to have but this one has adjustable legs so you can use it to cut or pin quilts on at a nice height without bed risers or pvc pipe risers. I think the tallest it went was 36" with 2 shorter...

Sewing Room - Done Enough by Kim E
It's not perfect, but close enough. Sure is better :) I need to reindroduce myself: Hi, I'm Kim, and I'm a fabriholic. I'll have to see how I like the cutting table out into the room. I think it will be more usable, but it does cut down on the space in...

Who's preggers? by AliceW
We haven't done this survey for a while, so I thought it would be fun to see who's making baby quilts (see, it's on topic!). So, who's expecting (can be a child or grandchild or great grandchild, etc.) And when is the happy event - bonus question: do you know if it will be a boy or girl or are...

OT - thanks, from NanaV by Queen of Squishies
Thanks so much for the blocks you forwarded (the others haven't arrived but I'm glad they are coming). Also thanks for forwarding the groups messages. It's nice to know they remember me. It's been very hot here as well. Today wasn't too hot but the humidity was about 98% so it felt awful. I...

JULY's BLOCKS - 2005-2006 RCTQ Block-of-the-Month (BOM) by Melissa in NJ
Sorry these are a week early. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get online between now and the normal time I post them due to a hectic work schedule and my and my DH's 5 year anniversary celebrations. So you get the July BOM's a week early!!! Bad news is it will seem like forever until the August's...

Need help with quilting by Dixie Sugar
A few years back my mother who was a quilter, tried to teach me to quilt. My quilt ended up being a UFO eventually. Now that I am retired and have more time I want to finish it. When I spread it on the bed I found that some of it is ok but some of it has wrinkles on the backside (oh yes, now...

Are you working on Holiday Projects? by Pat in Virginia
Just happened to notice that today is June 25, just six month until Christmas. Our Ragmop usually jumps in here and does a countdown about now, but I thought I'd beat her to it. ;) Am I working on special Holiday Projects? Nope! But I am working on a quilt, and some blocks for BOM at guild. The...

What to do with an ugly quilt by Joan
All right, so when I began the quilt, I wasn't very happy with it. It was going to be horrible and ugly and then what would I do with it? Of course, i would finish it anyway. I'm compulsive that way. Anyway, Popser took notes, as usual. Joan http://popser.com/ugly.html (And my new quilt!)

OT HUMOR: MODERN MEDICINE by SNIGDIBBLY
One day, in line at the company cafeteria, Joe says to Mike behind him, "My elbow really hurts. I guess I had better see a doctor." "Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money," Mike replies. There's a diagnostic machine down at Wal-Mart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer...

BATIK QUESTIONS by SNIGDIBBLY
I don't know who it was that was inquiring about using Batiks but there is an article in the 8-30-2005 issue of LOVE OF QUILTING - Batik Jewel - Judy Martin Exclusive on page 24 that the inquirer might find helpful. The quilt displayed in the article is called the Jewel of the Prairie and really...
